Requirements for Project Development

* adapted to the new situation of using the online platform

 The project will be elaborated in teams of between 2 and 5 members.

 All projects will be uploaded on the online.ase.ro platform in Word format, on the
20th of May.
 Each student will upload the full project his/her team did, making sure that all the
names of the team members are included on the first page of the document. The
document will be named after the product that is presented in the project (example:
Bag.docx, Pen.docx etc.).
 The students that have not yet found a team can do it until the beginning of May and
must notify me by sending a message on the online.ase.ro platform!
 After choosing the team members, you must decide upon the topic of your project: a
product whose manufacturing process you must describe!
 I recommend you choose a product whose production process you know and
can be easily explained, for example: dress, pen, bread, etc.
 Do not choose products that have many components and processing stages
(for example: car, mobile phone, etc.)!
 The structure of the project should include the main concepts addressed in the courses
and should have between 10 and 20 pages (Times New Roman, 12).
 The structure of the project will have the following main elements:
 Short presentation of the product (what it is, why did you choose this product,
etc.),

 The chosen type of production (job shop, batch or mass) and the main influences
of that type of production on the manufacturing process,
 Location and size of the production company (including plant layout and
material handling),

 Presentation of the manufacturing process (including raw materials, equipment,

workers needed, production process, product design, etc),

 Maintenance and repairing management (presentation of the type of

maintenance chosen and the implications that appear in the production process
from choosing this type),

 Calculating the number of machinery for a desired annual production quota,

calculating the machinery loading plan and designing the precedence diagram
for the product + a brief description of the values obtained,

 Calculating production capacity and productivity for the proposed number of

workers and machines + a brief description of the values obtained,

 Calculating the unit cost of products (indicating the costs, profit and breakeven
point) + a brief description of the values obtained,

 Reference list.

The project is not compulsory to enter the exam, but it is worth maximum 2 points in
the final grade!
