Application Architect – Cloud Adoption, Reuse, Microservices
Responsibilities: -
Enterprise architecture: Align to Enterprise architecture standards in
refactoring applications with emerging technologies, maintain application
technical debt, increase reuse.
Application Architecture: Work with application leads to design change in
accordance with architecture & design patterns in agile fashion. Focus on
Cloud adoption. Be the strong technical face-off in enabling implementation
teams to migrate/refactor to cloud platforms.
Modeling: Lead modelling of architecture & design for the portfolio.
Governance: Ongoing governance of the architecture with AD teams
Requirements: -
Experience: 12+ years of relevant IT relevant experience. Max: 15-20 years.
Skillset: Must have got recent hands-on
experience in design to delivery of cloud-
native applications (mainly on Pivotal
Cloudfoundry), applying industry best
practices – in Java related technologies.
Expected to have strengths in REST Apis,
API management concepts, microservices,
SOA concepts. Very strong on server-side
Java technologies (Spring etc)
Must have got good experience (atleast 2+
years) in modeling concepts at architecture
and design level with experience in atleast
one formal modeling tool. Experience in
analysing, modelling, depicting and
describing Architectures for various
audiences. Experience of creating
architecture artefacts and deliverables
Industry certifications (AWS cloud,
cloudera, IBM, SOA school etc) in Cloud &
microservices are desirable.
Modern UI technology experience
preferred (Angular JS )
Experience of working on large scale,
global technology initiatives
Experience of industry architecture
methodology(TOGAF, RUP) advantageous
Experience in setting, using and enforcing
standards, industry patterns and best
practice
The ability to abstract from specifics, and
detail from conceptual
Should have strong skills in conceptualizing
common patterns and solutions, ability to
influence varied stakeholders – Application
teams, leadership, central architecture
teams
Role Expectation
With a strong sense of ownership, work
with multiple application teams to
modernize application implementation per
best practices and approved solutions.
Should be able to provide strong and valid
design reviews, NFR analysis.
Work with application tech leads in
ensuring appropriate usage of
cloud/microservice and application-design
best practices.
Deliver on portfolio-wide models for
application architecture & design.
Evangelize architecture team charter with
multiple application teams and enterprise
teams.
Translate enterprise directions to
application teams to succinctly explain
what the impact for the applications are.
Be willing to do hands-on POCs on
emerging products and articulate their
results
