Dear Recruiting Manager,

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for the Investment Banking Intern position at Investment Bank
Division. After reviewing your job description, it is clear to me that you are looking for an outstanding
candidate who is motivated, prudent, and possesses the teamwork spirit. Given these requirements, I
am certain that I have the necessary mindset and skills to adeptly perform the required tasks above
expectations.

I am a proactive college student, currently attending school. Coming from an international background, I
have built up strong adaptivity over time. With rigorous effort and diligent practice, I have fostered
strong language skills through my international experience; I am fluent in English and Mandarin, and
currently learning French. Three years after relocating to Los Angeles, California, my studious endeavor
in learning English had allowed me to work as a freelance translator, where my critical thinking and
language skills are equally sharpened. Moreover, I had the chance to establish the company, Company,
with my colleagues; although I am no longer an active member, I have gained valuable professional skills
such as multitasking and professional communication during my tenure as the Editor in Chief and
seasonally, Event Director. For one of our events, I have maneuvered to reduce the overall expenditure
by the equivalent of approximately C$ 2000 after carefully assessing the situation without affecting the
participants’ overall experience. Yet what motivates me the most is rather the finance world, and to
translate my interest into skills, I have taken courses on Excel and Python and am currently working on
the course bundle offered by Course, by which I hope to further advance my career.

In both my academic and professional life, I have been consistently praised as organized and detail-
oriented by my professors and peers. My experience to work in the fields outside the financial service
industry would allow me to bring something different into the workplace, such as the mastery of the
English language, critical thinking, and adaptivity, which I hope to leverage into the Investment Banking
Intern role at your company.
