BLDC TECHNOLOGY
POWER BEHIND GORILLA FANS
BLDC stands for Brushless Direct Current. BLDC motor has no mechanical brush for commutation of the windings.
Commutation is deployed with the help of smart electronics. The input voltage provided is 230V AC which is
converted to 24V DC by a SMPS. The fan runs internally at 24V and consumes just 28W at full speed.

We, at IIIT Hyderabad, first bought 240 energy effcient BLDC fans from Atomberg
Technolgies in June 2016. The perfomance of the fans has been satisfactory. We
have not faces any issues with respect to performance and service so far. Use of
these fans resulted into substantial power savings for us.
Satisfied with the performance, we have also given them a repeat order of
230 fans in May 2017. Many faculty and staff members have also opted for these
fans for their presonal use at home. Going forward, we plan to install more
number of BLDC fans in the compus.
