 My best friend
Hello! My name is Sara and I´m thirteen years old. I´m from Madrid, Spain. My best friend is
Martina, who is Polish is thirteen too. She came to Spain with her family four years ago. At the beginning
she didn´t speak Spanish very well but now it´s different. She´s very hard-working at school and she´s
fluent in Spanish now.
Martina is tall and pretty. She´s got long curly brown hair and brown eyes. She goes to my school
and she lives not far from my house. We often go to come back from school together. After school we
also spend some time together. I sometimes go to her house or she comes to mine and we listen to
music and talk about different things: books, video games and film. She likes reading a lot. Last year
she won languages that we learn: English and German.
My friend is not very sporty. She doesn´t likes swimming. I like sports and we go swimming

Tic Tac Toe

Divides al grupo en equipos de 10 estudiantes aproximadamente de forma que los equipos sean del
mismo número de estudiantes. Proporcionas cartulinas y marcadores para que dibujen el diagrama de

Telaraña

Divides al grupo en equipos de aproximadamente 10 estudiantes de tal manera que los equipos sean
del mismo número de estudiantes, proporciones una madeja de estambre a un estudiante, él o ella
tiene que decir una oración proporcionando información personal usando el verbo To be; por ejemplo:
“I am a good student” y arroja la madeja de estambre a algún otro estudiante; el segundo estudiante
proporciona información personal diferente como: “I am Mexican”. La madeja se sigue arrojando a
diferentes estudiantes de tal forma que se tenga una telaraña. Para desenredar la telaraña la madeja
que regresa a partir del último estudiante quien dirá su oración en forma negativa, hasta desenredar
completamente la telaraña. El docente monitorea la actividad. Ganará el equipo que termine primero
de desenredar la telaraña.

ROBOTS

When will we have robots? We already have many kinds of robots! Industries use a variety of robots
and now robots are becoming more common in the home.

The Husqvarna company makes the Auto Mower, a lawn mowing robot. The robot has sensors
which detect where objects are in the yard and it maneuvers around them. The robot can cut the
grass while you relax on the patio with a glass of lemonade! Also, Eureka now makes a robotic
vacuum cleaner. Like the robot lawn mower, the vacuum cleaner automatically detects where the
furniture is and vacuums around it.

Cars are becoming robots now that many cars have GPS (Global Positioning
Systems) on them. A car with a GPS system can give you directions on how
to go somewhere, tell you where the closest gas station is, and, some day in
the future, will drive itself. You will take a nap or read while the car drives
itself to your destination.

We even have robotic pets now. The Sony company makes a robotic dog
named Aibo that can sit, stand, and walk like a regular dog but can also communicate and take
pictures! Aibo understands certain commands, like a dog does, such as "Sit down", "Stand up", "Turn
right", etc. If you ask Aibo a question such as "How old are you?", its eyes will flash the number of
years old it is. Aibo is also a great guard dog. He can patrol the yard and take pictures with a built in
camera of anything suspicious.

Adverbs of frequency are always used to indicate how often a routine is repeated.
The adverbs of frequency are:
Always, usually, normally, often, sometimes, occasionally, seldom, rarely/hardly ever and
never.
These show how many times you do an activity for example:

How are you every day? How many times do you brush your
teeth?
I´m always happy
Always, right?
So, you always brush your teeth.

As you can see, in the examples, when you use the verb “to be”, the adverb of frequency has to be
after the verb; on the other hand, when the verb is any other (ride, fly, eat, etc.) the adverb has to be
before the verb.
