Use the In Intro to Dance, I choreographed a 1:30 minute

a mode of inquiry X I also have regularly made art outside of class. Both of
or expression these fulfill the skill of artistic expression, and I feel
confident and comfortable when doing these activities.
Demonstrate I learned some of these skills in the several group
leadership, projects I have done during my time at Seton Hill,
negotiation, including my Social Action project for Senior Seminar, in
relational, and which we had to coordinate schedules, form new
consensus skills relationships with community members, distribute labor,
X
and display leadership and initiative in meeting our
goals. However, I did not have enough practice in this
skill set to feel like I mastered for a fourth year college
student, because my levels of success still vary and this
skill brings me anxiety.
Use technological This is a skill that I have used in nearly every of my
skills to access undergraduate classes, but especially for classes with
information, presentations or lab reports. I was expected to use
X
organize technological resources to communicate information
knowledge, and effectively. This a fundamental skill of undergraduate
communicate education that I know I have met.
Propose new My time as a college student did not prompt me to
solutions to propose new solutions to current issues. However, in the
current issues future, in grad school and as a Physician Assistant, I
X
intend to use my knowledge and creativity to come up
with new effective and tailored treatment plans for
patients to fit their specific, individual needs or issues.
Express In my Modern Latin America course, I used Keynote to
arguments or X create a presentation on the Mexican Muralist
main points Movement. This presentation featured visuals, text, and
clearly, in written a voiceover to express the main points of my research
and oral and analyze the impact that this movement had on
communication Mexican culture and the art world as a whole. This was
only one of several similar presentations across several
classes where I expressed my argument written and
orally.
Transfer In Senior Seminar, my Looking Ahead: Ethics in my
knowledge and Vocation project assessed knowledge about my future
values into sound career and values held by my profession to make an
decision-making ethically sound decision in a hypothetical scenario.
X Because this was a hypothetical and not real scenario
and because my other classes didn’t address this too
much, I don’t consider it to be a mastered skill for me. I
know I could be more adept at this for a fourth year
college student.

Analyze the In M-term 2019, I studied away in Córdoba, Spain and the
impact of history, surrounding Andalucía region. There I was enrolled in a
geography, and Western Civilizations course that analyzed Spanish culture
socio-cultural and identity from the perspective of its history, geography,
dynamics on X and complex religious environment. We also visited
global historical sites and spoke with locals, as well as living with
interactions from host families who shed light on the socio-cultural dynamics
a variety of that exist in Spain and its relation to the rest of the world. I
disciplinary also used this skill in other classes such as Modern Latin
perspectives America and the History of Western Medicine. Overall, I
am confident in my ability to use this skill.
Analyze current In M-term 2019 in the Western Civilizations course I took
and historical in Córdoba, Spain, I wrote a paper analyzing the surrender
events through X of Granada to King Ferdinand II and Queen Isabella by
the lens of Boabdil, a moment that ended the Reconquest. I analyzed
spirituality and the morality of both sides involved in this moment and the
faith way this moment continues to affect Muslim immigrants in
Andalucía, Spain. While I addressed spirituality and faith in
this analysis, it was not the primary lens I used in my
discussion. I also have not used this skill in many of my
other classes, which is why I would consider it to be
partially met.
Assess privilege For Supernatural Topics in Latin American Fiction, I wrote
and oppression an essay analyzing the female characters of Mexican writer
from the X Amparo Dávila, analyzing the feminist arguments made in
perspective of her pieces and observing how sexist oppression drives her
culture, race, stories. In Jesus, we also discussed sexist and racism and
class, and gender how it creates divides of oppression and privilege. This skill
reappears across several of my courses, so I consider it
met.

Generate and In Organic Chemistry Lab, I conducted an experiment to
analyze numerical determine and compare the Vitamin C content in both a
and scientific data Vitamin C supplement and a sample of apple juice. I
X
analyzed the titration data and through a series of
calculations, determining these amounts and accounting
for my margin of error.
Locate and In Latinos and Medicine in the U.S., I watched an HBO
analyze documentary called “Clínica de Migrantes” that revealed
expressive media X the healthcare crisis of uninsured, undocumented
to gain immigrants in the US and their lack of access to medical
information or care. The media was expressive, showing stories with
comprehend the specific patients and the struggles that one volunteer-run
significance of an clinic faces in trying to provide them with quality care. We
issue or an event analyzed this film and topic in class via discussion. This is
one example of a time when I used this skill in the
classroom, but I have learned to do this outside of the
classroom to stay informed about the news, so I consider it
met.
Organize and In Latinos and Medicine in the U.S., I researched and
manage presented on “Food Deserts: Addressing Health Disparities
resources in a X in Latino Communities” at the Undergraduate Research
creative way to Conference. For this, I created a Tri-fold board, website,
achieve impact and QR codes to videos to offer creative avenues for my
audience to engage with my topic. This was one time of
several that I had to creatively use my resources to achieve
an impact, so I consider it met.
Find, evaluate, X This is another fundamental skill of undergraduate
and apply education that I know I have met. Research is a major
information component of my studies, so I am very comfortable finding
information in several forms using different avenues. I also
have lots of experience applying that information to the
issue presented by the course material, whether that be in
a discussion, a paper, or a presentation.
Interpret In Intro to Statistics, I presented research on “Water
quantitative and Sanitation and Infant Mortality in Hispaniola,” which
qualitative X interpreted datasets from UNICEF. I argued that the 2010
information to Artibonite River contamination and subsequent
present a logical earthquake both altered water sanitation enough to cause
argument based a disproportionate increase in neonatal mortality due to
on supporting diarrhea. I also use this skill in a lot of my lab reports and
data experiments, which I have been doing my entire
undergraduate career and feel comfortable saying I’ve
mastered.

Demonstrate In Senior Seminar, my Looking Ahead: Ethics in my
ethical decision- Vocation project referenced the philosophy of medicine,
making which includes values such as doing no harm and honoring
X
grounded in patient wishes/consent, to assess a difficult ethical
philosophical dilemma and ultimately decide upon a course of action. I
inquiry know, however, that this project is not sufficient practice
in this skill to equip me for grad school, especially since the
rest of my undergraduate courses did not fully address it. I
plan to continue doing exercises like this throughout grad
school with the guidance of my professors.
Apply Catholic In Faith, Religion and Society, I analyzed the contemporary
social teaching social issue of climate change and our responsibility as a
to the analysis of X society to address it through the lens of Catholic Social
contemporary Teaching. I also used CST to analyze contemporary issues
social issues in Senior Seminar and Latinos and Medicine in the US. It is
so woven into the curriculum at SHU that I believe I have
met it.
Recognize the In Jesus, I wrote a reflection about Kelly Brown Douglas’
value of diverse work “The Black Christ,” which discusses a womanist
spiritual and X Christology rooted in concerns for the oppressed
religious community that is black women and the specificities that
perspectives make it unique and powerful. Besides this assignment, I
have also visited places of worship outside of my religion
and attended worship services that were foreign to me.
Because of this, I believe I have met this skill.
Integrate the In Senior Seminar for my Social Action Project, I visited
practice of older folks in their homes who are vulnerable in society
charity with the because they either cannot work, are lonely, or have
skill of justice medical conditions without outside assistance. In giving
them a stronger sense of dignity, my group and I
X
effectively brought justice to their lives by honoring that
right. I integrate this practice in other places of my life, like
volunteering at soup kitchens and hospitals, and I feel that
I have mastered being comfortable in those spaces and
with those communities for my stage in life.
Exercise Aside from voting in elections, I have not exercised much
responsible civic engagement during my time as a college student. In
freedom and the future, I plan to be more actively involved in civic
civic engagement and responsible freedom by participating in
X
engagement protests, writing to members of Congress, and educating
based on an myself on the pressing issues that our country is evaluating
informed value and addressing so that I can respond responsibly.
