• Manufactured in Kapurthala, India.
• Design speed – 160 kmph, can go up to 200 kmph.
• Introduced in India in 2001.
• Firstly used in New Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi Express – imported from Germany.
• Technology Transfer agreement.

Why LHB ???
Limitations of ICF coaches :-

USAGE & PRODUCTION
• Presently used in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto and Gatimaan Express.
• Slow upgradation of non-AC ICF coaches with non-AC LHB coaches in trains like
Purushottam Express, Sampoorn Kranti Express, etc.
• Major production at Kapurthala, Punjab.

• Also produced by Integral Coach Factory.


• Upcoming factories at Raebareli, Pallakad and Kolar.

• Shop Schedule (SS-1), IOH : 18 Months / 6 Lakh kms whichever is earlier
• Shop Schedule (SS-2), POH : 36 Months / 12 Lakh kms whichever is earlier
