entries in the column of reduced levels: 55.565 (B.M), 54.985 (C.P), 55.170, 56.265, 53.670,
53.940 (C.P), 52.180, 52.015, 51.480 (C.P), 53.145, 54.065 (T.B.M). (b) entries in the back-
sight column: 1.545, 2.310, 0.105, 3.360 in order from the top of the page.

Reconstruct the page as booked and check your work (use height of Instrument or rise and
fall method)

2 A railway embankment is 20 m wide with a side slope of 2.5:1. Assuming the ground to be
level in a direction traverse to the center line, calculate the volume contained in a length of
120 meters, the center height at 30 m interval being in meters 2.5, 3.2, 3.3, 4.5, 3.5, 2.6, 3.5.

3 Examine the following notes on a compass survey for local attraction. Determine correct
bearings. Also determine the included angles at A,B,C,D and E.

4 Area enclosed by a contour of a hill and a lake situated side by side are as under .If the lake
is to be filled up to 100 m level with the excavated earth from the hill ascertain whether the
excavated earth is sufficient or in excess. If excess up to what level the excavation is done to
just fill up the lake.
