. . At this stage, I am satisfied with the progress of this Pre-service Teacher.
. . At this stage, I have some concerns about the progress of this Pre-service Teacher.
. . I consider this Pre-service Teacher may be at risk of not being able to meet the requirements of the
Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
Please provide some written feedback regarding areas of strength and areas needing improvement.

Professional Knowledge (Strengths):

Sam has settled into the school well, she had developed positive and constructive working relationshis with the students. Her content knowledge
planning, resourcefulness and ability to find resources when required is sound. Sam has demonstrated various teaching strategies to cater for the full
range of students within her classes. Sam has demonstrated satisfactory lesson plans that are inclusive, well sequenced, challenging and cater for
differing skill levels. Sam’s instructions are appropriate, her delivery is excellent and she understand the uses of verbal, non-verbal cues and instruction
to enhance lesson expectations.

Development required in the areas of:

Sam will now gain some experience in how data can be utilised to inform and develop her practise. She will access student data such as student files,
intervention and support documents, naplan, traffic light and reports. She will also have a responsibility for student assessment, traffic lights and
report writing. Sam will continue to develop her unit and lesson scope, and task design, she will continue to refine her content delivery and develop
the ability to recognise student capability and design/modify/ differentiate lesson to allow students personalised ‘opt in’ points.

Professional Practice (Strengths):

Sam has demonstrated a professional attitude during her time at AHS. She has maintained professional boundaries and exerted confidence in her
teaching, maintaining control of the class well and therefore taken the role of teacher seamlessly. Her language and interaction with the students has
been professional. She used both verbal and non-verbal instruction effectively and her use of the whistle for bringing students together before
instruction has increased the success of lessons. Sam demonstrates required elements and models expectation utilising questioning to check
comprehension. Sam’s lessons are inclusive and she demonstrated an ability to modify or differentiate tasks to suit student needs.

Development required in the areas of:

Sam will be encouraged to continue to develop confidence as a teacher ensuring clear instruction pause and questioning. She will continue to develop
resources for use in her professional practise. Sam will be challenged to work at a high level by ‘Pre-empting’ student behaviours and make
professional judgements of managing behaviours, adapting and modifying planned lessons and content delivery to increase student engagement. Sam
has demonstrated a sound foundation of skills and knowledge so increasing and stretching her capabilities to improve her practise can be achieved,
which is very pleasing to see.

Professional Engagement (Strengths):

Sam has attended and contributed to staff meetings, CLT’s and various sporting carnivals. She has undertaken peer reviews, professional conversations
with the team for how this information, learning and experiences can extend and enhance her teaching practise.

Development required in the areas of:

I would like Sam to continue developing as an emerging teacher, to assist her in developing her practise, I will encourage her in her NIT or where
appropriate to observe other senior teachers and how they interact with students, set up classes, behavioural management etc. This should able her
developing her own skillset and enhance her professional practise.
