Cefepime: Uses, Dosage, and Warnings

Cefepime is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and pneumonia. It works by inhibiting the third stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis. It should be administered intravenously or intramuscularly every 12 hours. Nurses should monitor patients for superinfections and adverse reactions and educate patients on reporting signs of infection or reaction.
