The Ultimate FIFA 19 Top 5 League Guide PDF
Was created for FIFA Career Mode fans to feel inspired while picking their next journey as well as
learning more about the club they could potentially manage and receive tips on how they can find
success in the Career Mode save.
CareerModeStars was created in Febuary 2015 with the first post being on May 2015. The goal of
this page was to help bring the community closer together and help fellow FIFA players enjoy
playing the game and recieve tips on what type of players to buy. Over the years I have posted
a range of content, my most successful series has been my ‘Career Mode Challenges’, where I have
introduced a new and fun way to play Career Mode which brings a spark to many FIFA players.
The idea for this guide struck me in April 2018 and I started to work on it not long after, there were
many ways I approached this guide, however, I am finally happy with how it has turned out and I
look forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts!
After a season of mixed emotions. Performing amazingly in the league as they where undefeated until the
very last weekend and underperforming in the Champions League. From getting knocked out in the
quarter-finals against AS Roma, which is poor by Barcelona's standards as the club aim to win the
Champions League at the beginning of the season which shows their quality both on and off the field. With
one of the biggest budget's in career mode there is full range of freedom for who you would like to spent the
money on in order to continue the legacy of FC Barcelona.
Real Madrid
Budget: £165,841,280
Stadium: Santiago Bernabéu Stadium (81,044)
Currently one of the most decorated clubs in the world 'Los Blancos' have established a global brand
across the globe, and even with the loss of their star man Ronaldo they don’t seem to be slowing down
anytime soon. With the likes of players such as Marco Asensio breaking through into the first team and
the return of Mariano Diaz who joined Lyon, however, only stayed in France for a year as Real Madrid
came calling back when he lit the Ligue 1 on fire with an impressive 18 league debut goals. Will you be
able to continue the Real Madrid legacy and win record breaking trophies?
Real Betis:
Budget: £14,129,000
Stadium: Estadio Benito Villamarín (60,720)
The Spanish club have had a successful previous season qualifying for Europa League. Real Betis have
thrived off their system of having a mixture of inexperienced players and experienced players in having
players such, as Fabian (22 Real Betis youth player) and Javi Garcia (31)- a player who has played in
Spain, Portugal, England and Russia. Keeping key Players will be tough for this career mode however
it will be a good challenge managing squad depth and rotation during the League fixtures and Europa
League.
Levante
Budget: £7,224,583
Stadium: Ciutat de València (26,354)
Having only made it into a European competition once in their history, being in the Europa League in
the 2012/13 season where they made it to the round of 16. Levante have struggled to make their mark in
Spanish football and have struggles to progress from being a midtable/ relegation candidate, will you
become to manager to change this status?
Room for improvement:
The goalkeeper position should be your main priority, especially if you plan on simulating games as
having a quality goalkeeper is game changing and will have a massive effect on your results. Next on
your list should be the right-back positions who currently the only player you have that can positively
impact the club is Iván López which even then isn't good enough to be Levante's starting RB.
With top players such as Bardhi and Lerma controlling the midfield the core of the club is
strong to ensure the future of the club.
Sevilla
Budget: €34.5M
Stadium: Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán (44,000)
The 3 time successive Europa League winners Sevilla made very smart moves in the summer transfer
window. Selling Lenglet to Barcelona and Steven Nzonzi to AS Roma may seem like a big mistake and
decrease in quality, however the club brought in younger talents such as Gnagnon, Promes and Andre Silva
on loan with option to buy- which so far has been very successful based on performances at the beginning
of the season. There is a good mixture of young talents who have potential to grow and more experienced
higher quality players which makes this team very fun to play with.
Transfer Tip: In FIFA 19 Career Mode a big weakness is the goalkeeper position therefore I would suggest
recalling Sergio Rico back from his loan spell at Fulham.
Athletic Club
Budget: €18.5M
Stadium: San Mamés (52,289)
The Basque club based in Bilbao has won a total of 23 Copa del Ray and 9 La Liga titles as well as 2
Supercopa de España trophies, dating back to the 2015/16 season where Athletic Bilbao won 5-1 against
Barcelona, which broke the deadlock for Athletic Club as they hadn't won a major Spanish trophy in
31 years. The club also runs a transfer policy which is that they can only sign players that are from the
Basque country or have grew up and learned their football at a Basque club, making transfers very difficult
as the club have a limited range of players to choose from, however, this policy was created to promote local
talent which has been successful bringing up players such as Javi Martínez and Ander Herrera, their trust in
the local communities in the Basque countries is a sign of true loyalty which has paid off as the cub have
been playing in the top division since the 1928/29 season.
Espanyol
Budget: €10.4M
Stadium: RCDE Stadium (40,500)
The 4 time Copa del Ray winners and 2 time Europa League runner-up's, Espanyol have been in the La Liga
for 25 years now, however, other than their small run of success over the 2005 period Espanyol have
struggled to make a big push for consistently performing at a high level year on year- which will be
challenging in Career Mode as you will have to turn this squad around and identify players that should leave
the club in order to guarantee the clubs future success and start preforming and competing at a high level.
The club does have some great talents with the likes of Sergi Darder and Marc Roca, two great young
midfielders who will most likely stay in your Career Mode save for a long time and help you structure the
team in order to play consistently good football.
Transfer Tips:
The club are lacking a high quality LB therefore I would recommend recalling Aarón Martín from his loan
spell as well as signing a new RB as there is also lack of quality and depth there.
Getafe CF
Budget: £4,760,150
Stadium: Coliseum Alfonso Pérez (17,393)
If you are looking for a club in La Liga who have a small budget, but have a few good players in order to
stay above the regelation zone in the first season then Getafe are the club for you. With good players such
as Ángel, Ndiaye and Antunes (considering the position of the club and finances given), keeping clear of the
relegation zone shouldn’t be too challenging and with over 4 million euros + sales and pre-season you could
definitely push for a mid-table finish at the end of the first season!
Positions that you should look to improve on are:
The Striker position, as other than Ndiaye the club do not have great Strikers as many of them will start
declining within the first season. Realistic targets? Erling Braut Håland from Molde FK would be a great
addition to the club, along with, Hamburger SV Striker Jann-Fiete Arp.
Atlético Madrid
Budget: £60,344,900
Stadium: Wanda Metropolitano (68,000)
Atlético Madrid are currently on a high after beating Marseille 3-0 in the Europa League final, as well as sitting
3 points above city rivals Real Madrid in the league, some may look at this and believe Atlético should be
aiming higher than second place, and you may be correct- the Spanish side has spent €123.50 million on new
signings including Lemar, Rodri and Gelson Martins on a free transfer. Being the only club to reach 3
Champions League finals without having won the trophy isn't a great record to have, therefore, this will be a
great career mode save for people looking to challenge for the Champions League trophy within the first
two seasons!
Atlético Madrid do have a great overall side, however, there are a few players that you should look to
replace. Juanfran aged 33 will start declining and a replacement will be needed for the starting xi,
Šime Vrsaljko who is on loan at Inter Milan could be recalled from his loan spell, which could be a smart
decision. Godin and Filipe Luís are two great players but at the age of 32 they will also start declining,
keeping them for a season and replacing them with top younger players would be a good long-term decision,
Alex Telles and Virgil van Dijk would be two great additions to the side.
Alavés
Budget: €4.4M
Stadium: Mendizorrotza (19,840)
One of the smaller clubs in the La Liga in FIFA 19, however, surprisingly for a club who sits just below
mid-table. Alavés have made some good transfers, spending roughly €8M in the transfer window to rejuvenate
their squad which translates on FIFA as they have a good amount of player who have the potential to grow
and with a starting xi average age of 26 years old you will be able to focus on players who you believe can
stay at the club for a long time to help progress the club up the table.
Girona
Budget: €3.9M
Stadium: Montilivi (13,450)
Girona where promoted the first tear in Spanish football, for the first time at the end of the 2016/17 season
and in their first season finished in a commendable 10th position. In 2017 it was announced that Manchester
City had bought 44.3% ownership of the club which has resulted Girona in receiving Manchester City players
on loan such as Patrick Roberts, Douglas Luis and Aleix Garcia as well as being invited to their first
international tournament in India.
In FIFA terms I would say that the club's main weakness is the two CB positions which will be tough to
upgrade as there is only a €3.9M budget given therefore investing in a youth academy may be a smart move
to improve the squad in the long term.
RC Celta de Vigo
Budget: £10,357,600
Stadium: Abanca-Balaídos (29,000)
Celta de Vigo are a very strong team to manage in FIFA 19 Career Mode as they have great quality players,
including; Iago Aspas, Gomez and Sisto controlling the attack and great box to box midfielders meaning the
core of the team is already established, I would recommend investing in good quality CB's that have potential
to grow as this will help take the team to the next level. The two CB's Roncaglia and Cabral are both over the
age of 30 and are simply not good enough to start for the club.
Huesca
Budget: £1,823,928
Stadium: Estadio El Alcoraz (5,500)
Become a part of Huesca's history, managing the club for the first time in the La Liga's history. The Aragonese
side spent the majority of their existence in the 4th and 3rd division the club were last in the 4th division
15 years ago and progressed through the leagues to make it to the top tier of Spanish football where they will
come up against legendary sides like Messi's Barcelona. With the small budget given focusing on starting up
a youth academy to build for the future would be a main objective along with staying in the La Liga for a
consecutive year, currently having 9 players on loan this will be a factor to take into account for season two
if you stay up in the first division it will be a lot harder as you will have to replace quality along with quantity.
SD Eibar
Budget: £4,729,774
Stadium: Ipurua Municipal Stadium (7,083)
The small Basque club SD Eibar reached the top Spanish division for the first time in 2014 after managing
back to back promotions, since then they have secured their place in the La Liga and are currently in their
fifth consecutive season. With a starting xi average age of 28.64 investing in younger talents or a youth
academy would be a great start to help secure the club’s future in the top division as well as keeping key higher
rated players in order to make sure you continue to progress. In the past 4 seasons of SD Eibar's La Liga
history the club has finished in the 18th, 14th, 10th and 9th, will you be able to continue Eibar's success story?
Real Valladolid
Budget: £2,710,963
Stadium: Estadio José Zorrilla (26,512)
Real Valladolid does not have a lot of history in the top tier of Spanish football, you have to go back to the
1983/84 season for their first and last League Cup win where they won 3-0 against Atlético Madrid.
The important factor to remember for starting a save with this club, all of: Ünal, Verde, Ivi, Keko, Cop, Suarez
(Who are some of the club’s highest rated players) are on loan, meaning that within the first and second season
you must start to think of ways to replace them either by starting up a youth academy or by scouting young
talents and looking at players that you can bring in on loan.
Valencia CF
Budget: £58,378,200
Stadium: Mestella (49,500)
One of the most supported clubs in Spain with over 50,000 season ticket holders and 20,000+ on the waiting
list, which shows how loyal and passionate the fans are. Another great reason to do a career mode save with
Valencia is that they are an official EA Partner meaning that all the players have updated face scans!
Area's for improvement?
Overall Valencia has a great quality squad mixed with young players who have a high potential along with
more experienced players, the midfield is great with captain Parejo, Kongdogbia and Wass, however, adding
one high quality midfielder would place this team into the next level. As well as introducing a new right back
even though Piccini has just joined the club, at the age of 25 there isn't a lot of room for growth.
Rayo Vallecano
Budget: £2,904,123
Stadium: Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas (14,708)
Moving to the 3rd club in Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, the club has a current trend of playing in the first and
second division and even the third division which shows a lack of stability and security at Rayo Vallecano.
Staying up in La Liga would be the main objective for the first season along with setting up a youth academy
to make sure the club does not continue their trend of getting relegated, you will have to restructure the
team in order to reach an objective and one day reach the ultimate objective!
Villarreal CF
Budget: £28,978,398
Stadium: Estadio de la Cerámica (24,890)
Nicknamed 'El Submarí Groguet' (The Yellow Submarine), the club have gained a reputation of maintaining
success by challenging for trophies yet have always fell for a runners up prize as the club can't seem to
make a push to the next level of competing for major trophies. Times may be changing for Villarreal as they
have spent €38 million on two top class strikers in Gerard Moreno and Karl Toko Ekambi as well as
recruiting talented players such as 21 year old Santiago Cáseres and experienced tactician Santi Cazorla.
Positions that need upgraded?
The defense should be the first priority, particularly a centre-back and a left-back, with the budget given top
quality players can join the club which would help the club make that push they have been hoping for!
CD Leganes
Budget: €4.2M
Stadium: Estadio Municipal de Butarque (12,450)
CD Leganes are a club that spent the majority of their history in the lower leagues, however, they made slow
progress and built up through the ranks from the 6th tier all the way to the top, the club is now in their
third successive season in the top division and will look to possibly start finishing in the midtable positions
rather than the previous two 17th finishes.
This is a great challenging Career Mode as the club currently have 11 players on loan which means that
you will have to start planning in the first season on bringing in players to fill in the vacancies of the high
quality players that will leave in season 2 and with a small budget it will be very tough to gain quality
and quantity.
Real Sociedad
Budget: €15.8M
Stadium: Anoeta (26,756)
The two time La Liga and Copa del Ray winners Real Sociedad were considered a top Spanish side in the
late 1980's which is when they won the majority of their trophies, however, the success did not last as long as
they would have hoped for as their last glance of success was in the 2002/03 season when they finished
runners up just two points behind Real Madrid. Over the course of 2001-2007 Real Sociedad were involved
in a doping scandal as it was rumoured that the club had acquired €328,000 worth of medicines that were
never shown in the accounts, Eufemiano Fuentes was later arrested for 1 year for breaking public health laws.
Manchester City
Budget: £149.6M
Stadium: Etihad Stadium (55,097)
After the takeover by Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008 it was all upwards from there, establishing
themselves in the Premier League. More recently with the addition of manager Pep Guardiola and
investment in players such as Sane, Mendy and many more superstars a realistic objective in the first
season would be to win the Champions League as well as compete for a consecutive Premier League title.
Players to replace in the future?
With the likes of Kompany (32) and Otamendi (30) not getting any younger replacing them with a world
class defender that can stay at the club for a long time will be a good step forward. As well as replacing
David Silva, who may possibly start declining in the first season- this replacement could occur internally
with Phil Foden and Brahim Díaz who have potentials to become world class players.
Manchester United
Budget: £147M
Stadium: Old Trafford (74,994)
The Red Devils are possibly the most popular Rich Man Road To Glory Career Mode to do in FIFA 19
as Manchester United have been underperforming over the past few seasons especially in the
David Moyes/ van Gaal era.
Places for improvement?
Starting off by investing in the defence would be key, with Valencia who will be declining in Career Mode
and Phil Jones simply not to the high enough level to start competing in the Champions League spending
the majority of your budget establishing a world class defence certainly wouldn't be a bad idea.
Arsenal
Budget: £81.4M
Stadium: Emirates Stadium (59,867)
It is the end of an era over at Arsenal with Arsène Wenger leaving the club after 22 years in charge along
with an impressive pedigree of trophies. Moving from the past the club currently, has a total spending fee
for the summer transfer window of (-£65.34M) which makes it clear how Arsenal look to push on after
their disappointing 6th position finish in the 2017/18 season and start creating a new era in modern
football and with the likes of Lucas Torreira and Mattéo Guendouzi that will be developing for the future
of the club’s midfield the future looks promising.
Liverpool
Budget: £79.2M
Stadium: Anfield (54,074)
A dream of a season for The Reds as they reached the Champions League final which would've seemed
like a dream at the start of the season for any Liverpool fan, but with the likes of Salah breaking out and
contributing to 60 goals in just 52 games! In order to continue this success Liverpool have spent a total
of £163,98M filling in the void in the Goalkeeper position with another Roma star- Alisson and bulking
up the midfield with Naby Keïta and Fabinho.
Room for improvement?
I would recommend 'splashing the cash' is on a new centre-back as Lovren isn't at a high enough quality
for a club who are looking to win either the Premier League or the Champions League. Recommended
players to buy? Matthijs de Ligt would take Liverpool to the next level with the potential of 91 he will
be a long-term player. Another higher quality defender is Milan Škriniar who starts at 85 rated and has
a 92 potential!
Tottenham Hotspur
Budget: £74.8M
Stadium: Wembley Stadium (90,000)/ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (62,062)
The club went through the summer transfer window without buying or selling any players which can be
seen as a positive, as it is possible that there is no need to make any transfers, especially with the amount
of talent the club have that still have potential to progress. This is also perfect as it means you have a clean
slate to make as many transfers as pleases. After only winning the Premier League twice in their history
lastly in 1960-61 which is simply not good enough for a top English side. Overall, this is a great
Career Mode save to do as there it should be fairly straight forward with the quality of players to become
successful. Are you up for the challenge by giving Spurs that final big push into winning major trophies?
Chelsea FC
Budget: £83.6M
Stadium: Stamford Bridge (41,631)
Chelsea FC didn’t have the best campaign, finishing in the 5th position under Antonio Conte who was
later sacked and replaced by another Italian coach this time by Napoli manager Mauritzio Sarri- who was
very active in the transfer window after bringing along Jorginho with him and one of the best young
goalkeepers to the club in Kepa on a record breaking transfer (£72M).
Places for improvement?
Replacing Pedro should be a priority for you if you would like to upgrade the Chelsea team. Possible
suggestions? Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman has a very good starting rating and potential along with
5 star skills he would be perfect!
Everton
Budget: £66M
Stadium: Goodison Park (39,572)
Things didn’t go to plan for Everton finishing in the 8th position, after spending a total of £182.88M.
(-£68.40M including sales) Even after the initial disappointment the club have decided to reinvest and
have spent £89M (-£68.40) bringing in Brazilian talent Richarlison as well as three Barcelona players in
Yerry Mina, Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes on loan. Will this be enough for you to help Everton reach
at least the Europa League within the first season and possibly even lead the club to their tenth Premier
League title as well as continuing the new trend of bringing in big transfers season after season?
Burnley FC
Budget: £39.6M
Stadium: Turf Moor (21,944)
A magnificent season for Burnley as the qualified for the Europa League in just their second season in
the Premier League, after being promoted in the 2015/16 season. The two time English Champions have
struggled to keep up with modern day football in the past, however with their recent success of going
into their third consecutive season in the Premier League the club look to keep up a steady progression
and give their best shot in competing in the Europa League. Would you like to become part of Burnley's
history in helping create the foundation of establishing Burnley FC in European competitions?
Key players that still have potential to grow in this Burnley side?
At the age of 25 James Tarkowski starts at a high rating and still has room for growth, he will be key
in your save. England international Nick Pope will be leading the goalkeeper position at the height of
6'7" and great stats there is no need to worry about replacing him.
Leicester City
Budget: £48.4M
Stadium: King Power Stadium (32,315)
The club mainly known for doing the impossible, beating odds of 5000/1 and winning the
Premier League since then the club are still maintaining a high quality- not as high as the 2015/16
season, however, I don’t think anyone would've expected them too. Leicester City is always a great
Career Mode save to do as there is room for improvement along with great quality players which
shouldn’t make it too difficult to have a successful first season as there is a good budget in place to
bring in at least one or two world class players.
Talented players to keep hold of?
Filip Benković on loan to Celtic has 84 potential and at 6'4" he is a player you do not want to get
rid off. Harvey Barnes also on loan to West Bromwich Albion has a potential of 84 with already
good shooting and dribbling stats he could become a key player in the future. Hamza Choudhury
and Conor Tee are two talents who have progressed through the youth ranks and both have a potential
of 82 which could become useful for squad depth within the next few seasons.
Crystal Palace
Budget: £44M
Stadium: Selhurst Park (26,074)
Crystal Palace have spent eight consecutive seasons in the 2nd division over the course of the
2006/07 - 2012/13 seasons before making it back up to the Premier League, where they have sat in the
midtable position for the majority of the seasons. Will you be the manager to help Crystal Palace start
competing in the league and invest in the club to improve the all-round quality rather than only having
a few good players.
Key players in this Career Mode save:
New signing Max Meyer looks to revive his career with a move to England, he has always been great
in past FIFA's and will certainly be useful in FIFA 19!
Cyrstal Palace superstar Wilfried Zaha needs no introduction, starting at a high rating he will only
become higher rated as the save progresses.
A player you may not be too familiar with is Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with a big boost in FIFA 19 he has
potential to become a great RB in FIFA 19.
Bournemouth
Budget: £41.1M
Stadium: Vitality Stadium (11,360)
With manager Eddie Howe joining the club back in 2012, he helped take Bournemouth from the
League Two to the Premier league for the very first time in only three seasons. And since then have
managed to stay in the Premier League moving into their fourth consecutive season and with the
additions of, Jefferson Lerma and David Brooks the club look to invest in players who have potential
to grow and become a vital part to their team.
Players that should be replaced within the first season?
You should look to replace/ strengthen: Steve Cook (CB), Charlie Daniels (LB) and Adam Smith (RB).
As you can see I believe that strengthening the defence and possibly even the GK position will help you
progress in Career Mode and possibly take the club to the stage where they can start targeting qualifying
for a Europa League position.
West Ham splashed the cash this summer, spending a total of £93 million after a disappointing 13th
finish last season, with the likes of Felipe Anderson, Issa Diop and Jack Wilshere joining the club. The
hammers will be hoping with the introduction of talented players they can finally start tasting success.
This is a very good challenging Career Mode save to do in FIFA 19 as there is a mixture of top young
talents, high quality experienced players as well as loads of room for improvement with aging players
like Zabaleta and Nobel who will start declining within the first season.
Watford
Budget: £42.2M
Stadium: Vicarage Road (21,000)
A great club for people looking to manage a mid-table club in the Premier League, that have a good budget
in order to sign high profile players to start fixing the weaknesses in the squad. You won't have to build a
full squad from scratch as Watford do own some top players with the likes of partnership Doucouré and
Hughes controlling the midfield and Deulofeu adding lightning pace in the attack.
Areas for improvement in this squad would 100% be the defence and goalkeeper, I would prioritize
improving those positions over any midfielders or attackers.
Players to consider buying?
RB: Wan-Bissaka, Reece James /CB: Mawson, Lascelles / LB: Chilwell, Lloyd Kelly
GK: Mathew Ryan, Zack Steffen
Finishing in the 15th position, Brighton achieved their objectives last season of staying up in the Premier
League and it looks like they will strive to achieve more in this 2018/19 season. After spending a total of
£62.9M on 8 new players to improve the squad depth and overall quality including Eredivise star
Jahanbakhsh and young talent Yves Bissouma from LOSC Lille.
In FIFA terms, Brighton has a very good all-rounded squad that could potentially finish mid-table
and with the budget given you could really start building a strong premier league side. The one main
weakness in this squad is that they have an average age of 27 years old which for a long term Career
Mode isn't ideal as you will have to try reduce the average age over the first or second season to ensure
success in the future.
Huddersfield Town
Budget: £33M
Stadium: Kirklees Stadium (24,500)
The 3 time English champions and 1 time FA Cup Winner Huddersfield, dominated English football
in the 1920's after becoming the first English club to win three consecutive league titles, however,
after the second World War the club were in decline and started to fall down the ranks. Most recently
the club played in the Premier League for the first time in the 2017/18 season (which was before the Premier
League was given it's name) and have ended the season in the 16th position making it for another season in
the top division. The club were fairly active in the transfer window spending a total of £44M with the top
transfer going to Terence Kongolo after his loan spell from AS Monaco he convinced Huddersfield to
purchase him outright.
Southampton
Budget: £44M
Stadium: St Mary's Stadium (32,505)
'The Saints' where well known for finishing consistently above the relegation zone in the top division, as
they had a 27 successive run at the top before dropping down out of the Premier League for 7 seasons.
And in that time frame spent 2 seasons in the 3rd division which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as
they achieved back to back promotions making it all the way back up to the Premier League which they
currently remain in. Going into their 7th consecutive season at the highest level as well as making it into
the Europa League for two seasons in a row which turned out to be too much to handle as they fell down
to the 17th position in the 2017/18 season.
Fulham
Budget: £39.6M
Stadium: Craven Cottage
The club that surprised everyone this summer transfer window spending a whopping £98.1M and really
bolstered their roster, bringing in two powerhouse's in Seri and Zambo Anguissa, goal scorer Mitrovic
with André Schürrle supplying the goods and many more talented players. Fulham have a very strong
team capable in FIFA 19 Career Mode for possibly striving for a Europa League position within the first
season of being promoted in the Premier League.
It is no surprise, however on FIFA 19 Fulham have a very strong side as well as an average age of just
under 25 this side has some players who can become top quality players in just a few seasons which
makes this Career Mode save really enjoyable.
Cardiff City
Budget: £30.8M
Stadium: Cardiff City Stadium (33,280)
For players looking to do a Career Mode in the Premier League that will be challenging to even just
stay up in the first season then this is the save for you. Having an overall average rating of just 74 simply
isn't good enough which means you will have to do lot's of smart business in the transfer window luckily
£30.8M is a lot of money, however, is it enough to stay up in the Premier League? That is your challenge.
Two ways you can approach spending your money are:
You can invest in the future, this will entail you to start up a youth academy and invest in young talents
who have potential to progress into top quality players over the upcoming seasons.
Or you can purchase short term fixes in older players yet they will come with a high overall rating for a
lower price which could be a good idea in the first season as you may want to ensure that you avoid the
relegation zone.
Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.
Budget: £52.8M
Stadium: Molineux Stadium (32,050)
Another club that took the transfer window by storm are Wolves as they spent a total of £73.75M, as well
as, making very smart loan's and free transfer deals the club are ready to compete against the top dogs in
the Premier League. The club has previously won 3 English League titles, 4 FA Cup titles and 2
League Cup’s wins, which dates back to the 1979/80 season. It is clear that Wolves are hungry for more
trophies and are possibly thinking in the long term if their investments are all successful then they could
potentially start targeting competing in the Europa League like in the 1971/72 campaign when they
reached the final of the Europa League however unfortunately lost 3-2 against English side
Tottenham Hotspur. I would highly recommend trying Wolves in FIFA 19 Career Mode as they have very
talented players as well as a big budget to make even more improvements, are you ready to take Wolves
to the top?
Newcastle United
Budget: £35.2M
Stadium: St James' Park (52,354)
Newcastle United have spent a total of 87 years of their history in the top flight, and have won a
total of 4 league titles and have won the FA Cup a total of 6 times. The club are currently ranked the
ninth club with the most trophies for an English club as their most successful period came in the early
1900’s which is when Newcastle won 3 of the 4 Premier League titles and won the FA Cup.
The club did make some good moves in the transfer window with the likes of Muto, Federico Fernández
and Schär joining the club to help them progress from their mid-table finish in the 2017/18 campaign,
however, with the loss of Mitrovic you will have to bring in another striker as Rondon on loan is not
at a high enough rating to be starting at the club. A transfer tip that I would suggest is to sell players that
you do not plan on playing as Newcastle United have many players that have large wages with the likes of
Rob Elliot on 20k/week, this should free up finances to make future investments.
VfL Wolfsburg
Budget: £38,027,624
Stadium: Volkswagen Arena (30,000)
After a very disappointing 2017/18 season, finishing in the 16th position (3rd bottom). VfL Wolfsburg
were placed into the relegation playoffs where they faced Holstein Kiel in a two leg game and
came victorious, winning 4-1 on aggregate resulting in a second chance in the Bundesliga for the club and
start from scratch and rebuild to get them where they belong! You can expect a very young starting XI
with potential for lots of growth which has the quality to reach Europa League within the first season
along with a nice budget so you can purchase new players to help start the process of returning to Europe
and the top of the Bundesliga.
Augsburg
Budget: £8,622,286
Stadium: Augsburg Arena (30,660)
In the early 2000's Augsburg (Who were known for being promoted and relegated between the 2nd and
3rd division in Germany) went through tough times as they had financial issues which resulted in the club
being relegated to the Bayernliga (4th division of German football), they had to rebuild in order to return
to the second division which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the club reached the Bundesliga in
2011 for the first time in the club’s history and are continuing to progress reaching the Europa League in
the 2015/16 season, will you be the manager to continue with Augsburg's success and achieve consistent
European football?
Borussia Dortmund
Budget: £63,672,668
Stadium: Signal Iduna Park (81,360)
One of the top cub’s in the Bundesliga who are looking to rebuild for the Champions League after
recruiting a lot of young, talented players as well as experienced players- that can offer quality over the
past few transfer windows. More recently with young French defender Abdou Diallo, Belgium
international Axel Witsel and the exciting Thomas Delaney. This Borussia Dortmund side is full of quality
players which should be challenging Bayern Munich for the first place position, and with a few more top
quality players in FIFA 19 this side could challenge for a second Champions League.
Places for improvements? Dortmund are lacking a quality striker, yes, they have Phillip, Wolf and Reus,
who can all play as a striker, however, these players aren't orthodox strikers therefore purchasing a
consistent goal scoring striker such as bringing back Michy Batshuayi after his loan spell at Valencia
would guarantee success!
Borussia M'Gladbach
Budget: £22,696,952
Stadium: Borussia-Park (46,287)
If you are looking for a club full of talent such as, France u19 Captain Michaël Cuisance and powerhouse
Denis Zakaria controlling the midfield then Borussia M'Gladbach is the team for you. Currently sitting in
the mid-table position in the previous season this will be a great Career Mode to bring the club to where
they need to be- in a European Competition.
Places for improvement? The Right Wing position along with Left Back position both are in decline with
older players in those positions who are not contributing enough to the side, investing in these positions
will make a massive boost to your side and set the team up for future success.
Hertha Berlin
Budget: £12,054,154
Stadium: Olympiastadion Berlin (74,475)
Hertha BSC last reached the UEFA Champions League in the 2008/09 season, however, the club usually
sit's around the mid-table position, therefore Hertha BSC would be a great project in establishing them as
a top European club over the next following seasons!
Room for improvement? As Hertha Berlin play two experienced strikers with Kalou and captain Ibisevic
up top. I would recommend replacing both of the strikers as they are both aging and will decline within the
first season- purchasing two top class strikers or even have potential to become top players will relight
Hertha's attack and overall improve the squad. As well as improving squad depth with young talented
players that could break through into the starting xi in the future.
Werder Bremen
Budget: £12,144,189
Stadium: Weserstadion (42,100)
The 6 time German Cup Champions, Europa League winners and double competition champions
(Bundesliga + DFB-Pokal 2003/04), look to revive the club by introducing young talented players to
their roster such as players like: Josh Sargent, Milot Rashica and Felix Beijmo, who all strengthen the
young core of the club in order to help Werder Bremen reach their long-term objectives.
Werder Bremen are a very interesting club as even though they underachieved in real life last season,
finishing in 11th place, however, in FIFA 19 they do have a good number of players that have the potential
to become an important asset in your Career Mode with Werder Bremen.
Eintracht Frankfurt
Budget: £17,588,164
Stadium: Commerzbank-Arena (51,500)
After a successful season finishing in the 8th position as well as winning the DFB Pokal which qualifies
Eintracht Frankfurt for Europa League, the club are currently on a high. Resulting in (on paper) a very
good looking transfer window with the likes of World Cup star Ante Rebic joining for only £1.80M from
Fiorentina, Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Torró who hasn’t quite proven himself to stay and fight for a
place in Madrid nonetheless Lucas Torró certainly has the talent to grow into a solid midfielder in the
Bundesliga.
Realistic first season objective? Qualifying for Europa League through the league (6th position), this will
be tough as you will be playing in European football in the first season therefore you must prioritise squad
depth in order to compete in all 3 tournaments (Bundesliga, DFB Pokal & Europa League)
Mainz 05
Budget: £10,072,668
Stadium: Opel Arena (34,000)
A team built for the future, after having the second youngest teams in the Bundesliga along with the
recent addition of manager Sandro Schwarz. Who progressed his way up the managerial ranks from Mainz
05 u19, Mainz 05 II to the first team this shows how Mainz 05 have a solid core and infrastructure that
sets the club for future success. Bringing in transfers such as, Aarón Martín and Jean-Philippe Mateta
who provide the team with high quality along with the potential to become top Bundesliga players.
With a starting XI average age of 23 the club are a really good option for FIFA 19 Career Mode and have
top Bundesliga talents. Positions I would look to improve are the RM/ RW position as the club currently
lack a top quality winger, as well as, a box to box midfielder that can help drive and connect the defence
to the attack.
Bayern Munich
Budget: £105,906,200
Stadium: Allianz Arena (75,000)
A team that needs no introduction, the consecutive 6 time German champions, 5 time Champions League
winners super club Bayern Munich is arguably one of the best clubs in the world with top class players,
meaning this is a great team to use if you want to ease yourself into FIFA 19 Career Mode and aim to win
the Champions League within the first season.
Hannover 96
Budget: £16,605,205
Stadium: HDI-Arena (42,900)
Hannover are a great club to manage if you are looking for a good budget side that sits just above the
relegation zone. There was recent success in Europe as they went two consecutive seasons playing in the
Europa League from years 2011/2013. With target man Niclas Füllkrug leading the front line you will have
to adjust your playstyle as he is a target man and clinical finisher, therefore you will have to find ways to get
the ball in the box, purchasing players with high vision and passing stats will be a good way to achieve this.
Areas for improvement:
The first position you should look to invest in is the goalkeeper position, current goalkeeper
Philipp Tschauner is at a high enough quality, however, at the age of 32 and the lack of high potential
goalkeepers on the bench a replacement would be key for the future of the club. Setting up a youth
academy would also be crucial for the future in order to meet objectives as they currently do not have many
high potential players that can take over in the future which will help grow the overall brand of Hannover 96.
FC Nürnberg
Budget: £5,772,467
Stadium: Max-Morlock-Stadion (50,000)
The most successful German club that you do not know, the 9 time Bundesliga winners and 4 time German
Cup winners FC Nürnberg are a historical club in Germany who dominated the top tier of Football after the
first World War, they went 104 official games unbeaten and gained the nickname 'Der Club' due to their skills
and style on and off the field. Since the glory days the club has spent most of their time switching between
the first and second division. Will you be the manager to revitalise 'Der Club' in Germany and take the up
and beyond where they can win European trophies?
Areas to improve?
The club run a 5 in the back formation, meaning you will need to improve squad depth in the defence as well
as improving the midfield- brining in a box to box midfielder such as powerhouse Moses Odjer (21) from
Salernitana
Freiburg
Budget: £10,578,602
Stadium: Schwarzwald-Stadion (18,000)
Another great club for a 'Road To Glory' the 4 time Bundesliga 2 champions, Freiburg have a fairly low rated
side in FIFA 19 meaning that this will be challenging and may even take a few seasons to get the club up into
the top 6 position in the Bundesliga in order to take the club to the next level by competing in a major
tournament. A major priority must be setting up a youth academy as with not the biggest budget setting up for
the future should be a priority as you should think more for the long-term rather than the short-term.
TSG Hoffenheim
Budget: £26,301,676
Stadium: Rhein-Neckar-Arena (30,150)
Finishing off from a very successful season ending the 2017/18 campaign in 3rd place, equal on points with
Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen who both ended on 55 points - luckily for Hoffenheim they confirmed 3rd
place by goal difference having just +1 goals over German super side Dortmund. Along with the joy of the
Champions League qualification there are two factors that come with it; the money and the pressure of
playing in 3 tournaments in a single season.
Lets talk about money, the club currently have spent a total of €29 million as reinvestment in their squad
bringing in an average age of 22.6 years old, over 14 players (Includes players returning from loans)- which
will be beneficial to you as squad depth shouldn't be too much of a worry within the first season. Along with
the budget allocated of just over £26 million you could bring in multiple good players or 1/2 very good players
in order to cover spots in the team that could do with improving.
Fortuna Düsseldorf
Budget: £7,365,359
Stadium: Esprit Arena (54,600)
A great club for anyone looking to do a 'Road To Glory', by starting with a possible relegation candidate club
and taking them to the top ranks of European Football for the first time in the club’s history.
Fortuna Düsseldorf already has a solid set of young, talented players with the likes of Kaan Ayhan (23)
and newcomer Benito Raman, who has made his move from Belgium to Germany at the age of 23. After
investing €5.95 million in order to help the club stay in the Bundesliga for two consecutive seasons you could
become the manager to help the German side progress through the footballing ranks.
Schalke 04
Budget: £38,672,916
Stadium: Arena AufSchalke (62,271)
FC Schalke are coming of a very successful season finishing in 2nd place, 8 points above Hoffenheim in
3rd place. After losing top quality players such as Goretzka and Meyer on expired contract's it will be
difficult to replace that calibre of talented players, however with the budget given there is freedom of where
you spend the money and if you decide to buy a few top quality players or a lot of good possibly investments
for the future. An other great Career Mode to do in the Bundesliga that is challenging yet has the resources
to progress into preforming at a high level consistently!
Real Life Transfers Out:
Kehrer, Howedes, Goretzka, Meyer
Real Life Transfers In:
Rudy, Mascarell, Uth
VfB Stuttgart
Budget: £26,430,176
Stadium: Mercedes-Benz Arena (60,441)
Finishing in the 7th position in the 2017/18 Bundesliga campaign, VfB Stuttgart just missed out on
European football only 2 points away from RB Leipzig. The club has been very active this summer,
spending €31 million on players with a total average age of 23 years old including Manchester City
prospect Pablo Maffeo and Argentinian talent Nicólas González, investing for the future seems like a
priority for VfB Stuttgart making this Career Mode save very fun as there are loads of great talents as
well as loads of room for improvement along with the big budget of €26 million which equals to this
becoming one of the best clubs to do a save with!
RB Leipzig
Budget: £55,007,396
Stadium: Red Bull Arena Leipzig (42,959)
The history of RB Leipzig to inspire you to continue their success by managing them in FIFA 19
Career Mode:
Founded in just 2009, RB Leipzig funded by the company 'Red Bull GmbH' the company spent 3 and a
half years searching for the perfect location where they decided Leipzig over possible candidates of
Hamburg, Munich and Düsseldorf. Red Bull GmbH set up a plan to take over a club and invest €50 million.
In 2006 FC Sachsen Leipzig who were playing in the Oberliga (5th division) where close to getting
taken over by 'Red Bull GmbG', however, the DFB rejected the proposed new club name and feared too
much influence from the company, after a few months this deal was abandoned. Fast forwarding to 2008
the company proposed an offer to purchase the licensing of 5th division side SSV Markranstädt who were
keen to close out this deal, without this agreement of the playing licensing the company would not be able
to start their project with RB Leipzig and create a club in the Oberliga.
While creating the club they came across the issue of the regulation that a club cannot have a sponsors name
in it hence why, the club's full name is RasenBallsport Leipzig and not Red Bull Leipzig. Since then the
club's project has over succeeded some may say as they finished 2nd place in their first season on the
Bundesliga making their debut in the Champions League (2017).
Bayer Leverkusen
Budget: £40,548,816
Stadium: BayArena (30,210)
A club known for their; competitiveness in the Bundesliga, performances in the Champions League and
Europa League and of course their twitter banter. In all seriousness Bayer 04 is a club who has the
potential to compete in the Champions League within a few seasons if they can keep hold of their young
talents such as Brazilian talent/ new arrival Paulinho (20) who joined this summer for a fee of €25 million
as well as talents who have sealed their place in the starting xi over the years spent at the club with the
likes of Julian Brandt, Leon Bailey and Kai Havertz. The club has good quality and depth, however, they
haven't won a trophy in the 21st century will you be the manager to change this era of being
trophyless and take Bayer Leverkusen to cup finals?
Juventus-
Budget: €90M
Stadium: Allianz Stadium (41,507)
One of the top European clubs after successfully winning 7 successive league titles and reaching the
Champions League quarter finals, it is fair to say with the transfer of Ronaldo it could be possible that you will
be managing a side that could win a treble in the first season. Youth may be a key factor for this Career Mode
if you plan on managing Juventus for a long time, with players such as Bonucci, Chiellini and Barzagli starting
to decline within the first season, bringing in high calibre replacements that have room for growth will be
important for continued progression.
Napoli
Budget: €40M
Stadium: Stadio San Paolo (60,240)
Coming off their best ever season since the 70’s the Napoleon club will be very interesting to manage in
Career Mode. Coming close to winning the scudetto (league) in 2017/18 season, you could potentially be the
manager to dethrone Juventus. Napoli plays great counter attacking football that you can take advantage of in
FIFA 19 and have some of the brightest talents in the Serie A, including newcomers Fabián Ruiz and
Alex Meret which shows that the club are looking to invest in players that are already at a good quality and
have the potential to help the club progress into a top European club. However, losing Jorginho is a big loss
for the club as they have lost their passing maestro in the midfield
AS Roma
Budget: €40M
Stadium: Stadio Olimpico (70,634)
AS Roma have won the Serie A 3 times, most recently in the 2000/01 season, as well as, the Coppa Italia 9
times, sadly they have struggled to get more trophies under their belt, however you could become the
manager to start winning consistent trophies at the club.
As well as Napoli, Roma are coming off a great season after their amazing overall performance’s in the
Champions League and by qualifying for the Champions League again through a 3rd place finish in the Serie A!
The Roman club has invested in top talents such as Justin Kluivert and Ante Coric which will be crucial for
your Career Mode save to be successful.
Places for improvement In Career Mode:
The goalkeeper position should strengthened even though Robin Olsen had a great World Cup with Sweden
and Mirante has great Serie A experience these statistics do not feature in Career Mode unfortunately and are
not at a high enough rating to start at the club.
Lazio
Budget: €17.5M
Stadium: Stadio Olimpico (70,634)
S.S. Lazio were founded in 1900 and where the first and only major Roman club until 1927 when AS Roma
their biggest rivals were founded.
Over on the other side of Rome is Lazio, after a mixed season of highs and lows and the outbreak seasons
for players such as Immobile, Luis Alberto and Strakosha who shocked many Serie A fans with their ability
to perform at a consistent top class level, this Lazio side is overall very strong, there is room for improvement
including the lack of squad depth Lazio have that are at a good enough rating to help keep the team
performing at a high level. With an average age of 28 the club also has many players over the age of 30 who
unfortunately will start declining within the first season and with the budget given of only €17.5M you may
have to offload players in order to make good replacements.
Inter
Budget: €39M
Stadium: San Siro (80,018)
Inter Milan are a club known for their dominance in Italian football as well as having legends of the game
playing at their club in the past, with 3 Champions League titles and 18 Serie A titles the club are decorated
with trophies. Inter have recently struggled with maintaining their reputation and have had to
restructure the club with a new ownership and management that can invest in players who will help the
team grow is now starting to show, after clinching the Champions League during the final week of the
2017/18 Serie A season and completing the rest of the jigsaw by recruiting new players to cover their weak
spots with players such as Nainggolan and de Vrij to name a few this Inter team on paper should be able to
compete far in all competitions, it has been clear for years now that Inter are desperate to return to the
Champions League and become a world class club once again by winning major trophies, making this a very
enjoyable Career Mode save.
Milan
Budget: €52M
Stadium: San Siro (80,018)
After spending €200M the Rossoneri didn’t have the season they would have hoped for, however they did
qualify for Europa League meaning you will be able to play for Champions League straight away either
through winning the Europa League tournament or by finishing in the top 4 positions in the Serie A. And
with home grown talents such as Donnarumma, Cutrone and Calabria it is clear how the club prioritise both
youth and experience in their team to help start building back to winning ways- over time you will be able to
build a formidable force that will be able to take Milan back at the top ranks of European Football and add to
their collection of 7 Champions League trophies.
ACF Fiorentina
Budget: €19.5M
Stadium: Stadio Artemio Franchi (43,147)
ACF Fiorentina has struggled to make a final push to make it in the upper ranks where they can start winning
trophies, their last trophy comes in the 2000/01 season when they won the Coppa Italia. With new talents
joining the club could they help make this final push?
Fiorentina are a great Career Mode team to use in FIFA 19 as well as having talents such as Giovanni Simeone
and Federico Chiesa already at the club, Fiorentina have invested in bringing more talents with the likes of
Goalkeeper wonder-kid Alban Lafont joining the club, this makes it very enjoyable to play with as there are
already high potential players at the club as well as a good budget to make more investments to help the team
progress.
Positions that should be improved on?
Investing in a centre-back would be a smart choice as Fiorentina does not have much depth in that position,
and also lack quality therefore I suggest that you invest in a player who can potentially start and has room to
grow. I would also recommend that you invest in more players to help with squad depth, starting up a youth
academy would be a good idea.
Sampdoria
Budget: €14M
Stadium: Stadio Luigi Ferraris (36,536)
Sampdoria are a club who are very challenging to face even for the ‘bigger’ clubs, finishing in the 10th position
may not seem impressive, however, the club preformed very well for the majority of the season but started to
fade off in form within the last few months of the season. Sampdoria have been very active in the transfer
window and have focused on bringing in younger players that can help the club continue to grow up the ranks
and also more experienced players who can help make an immediate impact in the league.
Players to look out for in this Career Mode save:
Karol Linetty who can play as a box to box midfielder, Dennis Praet the playmaker in this squad and newcomer
Ronaldo Vieira joining the club from Leeds United.
Atalanta
Budget: €8M
Stadium: Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia (24,726)
The dark horses in Serie A for the 2018/19 season, join the process of Atalanta's success over the previous
couple of seasons and continue their growth as you will be able to play in Europe. Football within the first
season, Atalanta's success is based off their work in the transfer market- Atalanta knows where to spend
money! With new transfers coming into the club being Rigoni, Zapata and Pasalic your journey in FIFA 19
can only improve as time goes on!
There are also great players that Atalanta own that are on loan such as players like, Kessie and Cristante that
would be big improvements to the midfield, however, in real life the clubs they are on loan to have the
option to buy the players (unlike in FIFA) so it is your decision whether or not you recall them from
their loan spells.
Genoa
Budget: €8.6M
Stadium: Stadio Luigi Ferraris (36,599)
'I Rossoblu' also known as Genoa C.F.C (Cricket & Football Club) has a lot of history in Serie A- dominating
from 1897-1924 and winning 9 Serie A titles since then it is fair to say Genoa haven't been able to carry on
their legacy as they have been performing as mid-table competitors over previous seasons. However, there is
a spark in the attack for Genoa, two talented strikers Krzysztof Piątek and Christian Kouamé start off their
Serie A and Genoa career’s preforming at a high level week in and week out (at the time of this writing).
With an average starting XI age of 29, there is a lot of replacements waiting to be made in this squad as players
like, Spolli aged 35 will be decreasing at a fast pace and are not at a high enough level to be starting for the
club. A youth academy would be great for this Career Mode save or invest in younger players that have a
good overall rating to be starting in the squad.
Bologna
Budget: €12.7M
Stadium: Stadio Renato Dall'Ara (38,279)
The Serie A seven time winners Bolonga FC have recently became a mid-table club who comfortably sit above
the relegation zone and don’t seem to want more than staying in Serie A every season, which simply isn't good
enough for a club who have had the likes of Roberto Baggio and many other iconic players in their history. Are
you up for the challenge of taking this Bolonga side and start competing in Italy, once again?
Players to look out for in the Bolonga FC squad:
Orji Okwonkwo is currently the top youngster at the club and will be a key player in future seasons.
A midfield of Donsah, Nagy and Pulgar is one that has potential to maintain a high Serie A level in only a couple
of seasons, for a lower rated side in Bologna there is a good core to the team which makes this save enjoyable!
Udinese
Budget: €7M
Stadium: Dacia Arena (25,144)
Udinese were founded in 1896, during the early 1990’s Udinese were relegated and promoted from the first
and second division on multiple occasions, however, in the 1995/96 season the club were promoted to the
Serie A and have since then stayed up in the first division. In the 2017/18 campaign it wasn't the best season
for Udinese as there were questions on the club getting relegated, however, good performances at the end
of the season secured them in the 14th position- 5 points away from the relegation zone.
Udinese were busy in the summer transfer window spending a total of €45M on new players, such as big
money move Mandragora and Brazilian wonderkid Vizeu joining the club to hopefully start moving away from
the relegation zone and start moving up the ranks in the Serie A.
Chievo Verona
Budget: €4.6M
Stadium: Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi (39,371)
Chievo Verona were founded in 1929 by a small number of local football fans as they wanted to create a new
club in the city of Chievo. The club made it’s Serie A debut in the 2001/02 season where they shocked all Italian
football fans by finishing in the 5th position making them eligible to play in the Europa League. Since then the
club has only been relegated to Serie B once and have remained in the Serie A for the majority of the 2000’s.
If you are looking for a challenge in the Serie A then Chievo is the team for you, with a predominantly older/
experienced side youth will be key to rejuvenate Chievo Verona in the Serie A. With a small budget compared
to clubs you will be competing against you must choose wisely where you spend your finances! A goal in the
first season would be to stay up from the relegation zone. Another objective would be to start replacing the
players that will be declining within the first season with younger players in order to start setting up for the
future.
Cagliari
Budget: €6M
Stadium: Sardegna Arena (16,233)
Cagliari have won the Serie A one time dating back to the 1969/70 season with only 2 games lost and 11 goals
conceded which remains a record in any major European league.
The club in FIFA 19 has a mixture of raw talent yet to make their mark in Italy and European football veteran's,
Cagliari have a talented roster such as players like; Filippo Romagna along side 32 year old Ragner Klavan,
playmaker Barella (21) pairing up with electric attacker Marco Sau. There are many ways to play with this team
in terms of formations and tactics due to every player having different attributes and play styles to each other
which makes this Career Mode save very fun to play with.
I would recommend investing in a new CDM to help the defence link up with the midfield as that is the main
position where Cagliari lack quality.
Frosinone Calcio
Budget: €7M
Stadium: Stadio Benito Stirpe (16,227)
Frosinone are another great club for a RTG in a top division, Frosinone Calcio are a reasonably small club as
the 2015/16 season was the first time the club reached the top flight of Italian football. This promotion to
Serie A forced Frosinone to move and re-construct their stadium from only 5,000 seats to over 16,000, and
with a big budget of €7M you can bring in some good quality players to help achieve the objective of finishing
above the relegation zone. The club has spent a total of €5M in the summer transfer window to help them in
the following season, the majority of these transfers are loans which will make season two potentially even
harder as you will lose a good amount of your best players.
S.P.A.L.
Budget: €4.5M
Stadium: Stadio Paolo Mazza (16,134)
SPAL have had some success dating back to the 1950's and '60's where they spent the majority of that period
in the Serie A, and even finished in the fifth position which remains their best ever Serie A finish as well as
reaching the Coppa Italia finals losing to Napoli.
Another great club for a 'Road To Glory' in FIFA 19 as they aim to stay in the Serie A next season after a recent
promotion. Want to learn the arts of a 3 in the back? Well S.P.A.L is the team for you, as they have started off
the 2018/19 season playing with a 3-5-2 formation and starting a large amount of older players with lots of
experience in Italy which could be beneficial as you can use their experience to help achieve the club's
expectations and also help to introduce new, younger talents into the club in order to help the club in the
long-term!
When you talk about legendary Italian clubs Parma must enter the conversation, after growing legends of the
game such as Buffon and Cannavaro to name a few and winning both domestic and continental trophies
mainly in the 1990's. In most recent times Parma have not had the easiest ride after declaring bankruptcy on
March 2015, luckily for football fans Parma miraculously achieved back to back to back promotions making a
return to Serie A and look to plan for the future and make a return to the top flight of football, Parma have
made some very good moves in the transfer window with the likes of Gervinho and Jacopo Dezi joining the
club in order to stay above the relegation zone in the first season. Will you become the manager to help
Parma become the powerhouse in Italy once again?
Empoli F.C.
Budget: €5M
Stadium: Stadio Carlo Castellani (16,284)
A club who are usually bobbing between Serie A and Serie B, and are yet to establish themselves in the top
ranks of Italian and European football. A realistic aim would be to finish above relegation and possibly even
midtable as Empoli do have talented players with the likes of playmaker Zajc and ex-Arsenal U23 player
Ismaël Bennacer who will be a key player in the early stages of this Career Mode save.
In the 2006/07 Empoli finished in the 7th position qualifying them for the Europa League in the following
season, which was a big surprise in Italian football, however, it turned out to be too much for Empoli as they
were then relegated as they couldn’t handle playing in 3 competitions which sent them back to Serie B for
6 seasons before returning.
Paris Saint-Germain
Budget: €190.9M
Stadium: Parc des Princes (47,929)
Paris Saint-Germain, were founded just 48 years ago and since then have established themselves as the most
successful club in France and are the only club to have never been relegated from the Ligue 1. PSG started to
take off in 1973 when Daniel Hechter took over the club and won the league just 1 year later, this is when the
club started to gain traction and attracting top caliber players to the club. More recently, in 2011 'Oryx Qatar
Sports Investments' took over the French club and had plans on investing heavily to transform PSG into one
of the best clubs in the world bringing the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimović into the club really made PSG stand out
and establish the club as a top competitor in Europe.
After all of this time and investment Paris Saint-Germain are still looking to get their hands on the ultimate
Champions League trophy, with their current squad this Career Mode will be fairly simple to gain instant
success but will be a load of fun having such high quality players and aiming to win the Champions League!
AS Monaco
Budget: €50M
Stadium: Stade Louis II (18,523)
AS Monaco are building a really strong young squad as they have an average starting XI age of just 25 years
old, and even though they have lost massive talents such as Lemar and Mbappé the club have worked hard in
the transfer window to make sure they have been replaced with more wonderkids that can be sold on for big
profits in the future with the likes of World Cup star Golovin making his move to France. The club last won
the Ligue 1 in the 2016/17 season where players like Mbappé broke through the scene and led Monaco all the
way to their first league title in 17 years.
AS Monaco are a great Career Mode save for anyone looking to already have an established team as the club
do have a good amount of high quality and high potential prospects as well as aiming for one or two major
trophies in the first season an objective which is very possible, if you play your cards right you may even have
a successful run in the Champions League!
LOSC Lille
Budget: €10.4M
Stadium: Stade Pierre-Mauroy (50,186)
Lille are a great club for you to manage in FIFA 19 Career Mode if you are looking for a team who can start
competing for a European spot within the first season, Lille underperformed in the 2017/18 season finishing
in a disappointing 17th position, just one point away from being relegated! Lille have made very good moves
in the transfer window and will make your time managing the club easier- players you should look out for are:
Ikoné, Rafael Leão and Mehmet Çelik all have potential to become key players at the club.
Lille has won 4 Ligue 1 titles and 6 Coupe de France trophies since they were founded in 1944, the club had a
great 2010/11 season where they won the double (Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France).
Olympique Marseille
Budget: €21.2M
Stadium: Stade Vélodrome (67,394)
Olympique Marseille, a club that has had a lot of success in France and in Europe winning the Ligue 1,
9 times, Coupe de France 10 times and the UEFA Champions League one time in the 1992/93 season. More
recently the club finished runner-up in the Europa League losing to a strong Atlético Madrid side.
Marseille spent over €65M in the transfer window on new players to help them continue their progression in
Europe, having finishing 4th in the Ligue 1 you will be playing in the Europa League meaning you will be able
to prioritise winning the competition in order to gain automatic qualification to the Champions League.
A position I would highly recommend splashing the cash is the striker position, Mitroglou and Germain are
not at a high enough rating to start at the club and if you want to win trophies you need a prolific striker.
Stade Rennais FC
Budget: €8.6M
Stadium: Roazhon Park (29,778)
Stade Rennais are known in France for having, 'The best youth academy in the country' that has been
recognised by the French Football Federation. Therefore, a realistic approach if you manage this club in
FIFA 19 Career Mode would be to start up a successful youth academy and possibly focus on developing
young talent. With an average starting xi age of 25 and talented players on the bench such as Rafik Guitane-
it is clear that developing players is a priority at the club.
Girondins de Bordeaux
Budget: €11.1M
Stadium: Matmut Atlantique (41,458)
Bordeaux finished in the final Europa League spot, finishing in the 6th position, tying on points with
AS Saint-Étienne, however, Bordeaux where in front on goal difference. The club only spent around €11M in
the transfer window, Samuel Kalu taking up the majority of the transfer fee who will act as a replacement for
Malcom who joined Barcelona for £40M.
Positions that need investment?
I would invest in a new CB as Pablo being 75 rated at the age of 27 isn't really good enough for playing in the
Ligue 1 and Europa League- selling him to gain more finances and replacing him would be a smart move.
AS Saint-Étienne
Budget: €9.7M
Stadium: Stade Geoffroy-Guichard (42,000)
AS Saint-Étienne missed the Europa League qualification on goal difference which is unfortunate, however,
it could be good for you to play in FIFA 19 as you can fully focus on the Ligue 1 to ensure that you qualify
for the Europa League second time around. Saint-Étienne could potentially be taking a more attacking
approach to this season as they bought only two players (on a permanent deal) who were Wahbi Khazri
and Rémy Cabella both attacking midfielders which could suggest that the club are looking to create more
goal scoring opportunities as they only scored 47 goals in 38 games last season. I would recommend
investing the majority of your finances in the defence as this is where the main problem in the club is,
having aging players in the defence will not make for a very successful team in the long term.
Players I would recommend looking at who are cheap:
Nicolas Cozza, Stanley N'Soki, Oumar Solet, Harold Moukoudi. All are young French defenders who are
good long-term investments.
FC Nantes
Budget: €7M
Stadium: Stade de la Beaujoire (38,128)
Nantes finished in the 9th position just above midtable, after starting of the 2017/18 season Ranieri's side
looked as if they could challenge for a European spot, however, form started to wear off and in the second
half of the season the club only managed to win three games plummeting them to the 9th spot. Judging of
last season the main problem is possibly the lack of consistency and the main way to improve this is by
increasing the quality of players at the club, with a €7M budget, there is room to make a few more transfers
to help this side finish closer to the European positions. FC Nantes have won 8 Ligue 1 titles, their last title
coming in the 2000/01 season unfortunately the club could not continue its success and started to decline
season by season eventually being relegated in the 2005/06 season.
Players to look out for in this Career Mode?
Abdoulaye Dabo will be crucial in your Career Mode if you give him time to develop, one of the best
17 year-old talents in the game.
Valentin Rongier is another talented midfielder who will be starting in your squad from the first season,
he can play anywhere in the midfield and still has room to improve!
Montpellier
Budget: €6.8M
Stadium: Stade de la Mosson (32,900)
Montpellier are a very interesting club to manage in Career Mode, the club have won the Ligue 1 once in the
2011/12 season finishing above of PSG with 82 points. And since then have established themselves as a
midtable club in the Ligue 1.
In FIFA 19 Montpellier have a decent all rounded squad with some high quality players including Lecomte,
Cozza and Aguilar who will help the club progress from a midtable club into a club that start competing for
the top spots in Ligue 1.
FCO Dijon
Budget: €4.1M
Stadium: Stade Gaston Gérard (15,995)
With an average starting XI age of 25 Dijon have a good amount of talented players who have room for
improvement, which is good if you plan on doing a long-term career mode save. The main position I would
aim to improve is the two CB positions as Yambéré (70 rated) and Ciman (75 rated) aren't at a high enough
quality to be starting at the club- offloading the aging players to bring in more finances to bring in upgraded
replacements would be a good start to this career mode.
EA Guingamp
Budget: €5.2M
Stadium: Stade de Roudourou (18,250)
The club are best known for in France for their development of young players and selling them on for them to
make the next step in their career such as players like Drogba and Florent Malouda.
EA Guingamp have two Coupe de France titles under their belt winning both in the 2000's
(2013/14 and 2008/09).In the 2004 season the club were relegated from the Ligue 1 and stayed in the Ligue 2
for 6 seasons, in that time of playing in the Ligue 2 Guingamp won the French Cup and also qualified for the
Europa League during that time before being relegated to the 3rd division in France in 2010 which turned out
to blessing in disguise as the club were instantly promoted back to the Ligue 2 and the following season
where promoted back to the top division where they remain making their 6th successive season in the
Ligue 1.
Amiens SC
Budget: €3.9M
Stadium: Stade de la Licorne (12,097)
Amiens SC played in the Ligue 1 in the 2017/18 season for the first time in the clubs history and finished in
the 14th position, which was a successful first season in the top division. The club will look to continue
playing in the Ligue 1 and build up to the midtable position and eventually start progressing to qualifying for
the Europa League, which will allow you to start making history for Amiens as they are yet to play in a UEFA
competition.
RC Strasbourg Alsace
Budget: €5.4M
Stadium: Stade de la Meinau (26,109)
Strasbourg are among one of six clubs to have played over 2000 games in the Ligue 1, however, the club
haven't been able to establish themselves as a top French club or make a push to the top ranks of European
Football. The club played in the third division for 6 years after being promoted in 2016 and were instantly
promoted back to the Ligue 1 in 2017 where they finished in the 15th position and look to start
re-establishing themselves in the top division.
Positions to improve in FIFA 19 Career Mode?
Bringing in a new LB and ST would be smart moves as the club are currently lacking quality in those
positions with a budget of €5.4M that should be enough to make roughly 2 or 3 good signings that can
helpmake an impact in your squad.
Angers SCO
Budget: €4.7M
Stadium: Stade Raymond Kopa (17,835)
Angers have currently been in the Ligue 1 since 2015, and after a good 14th place finish for them last season
the club look to remain in the top division and continue their progression. The club made over £15M in
profit in the transfer window as they sold Karl Toko Ekambi to Villarreal for £16.2M and only spent just over
£3M with Arsenal U23 player Jeff Reine-Adélaïde taking up most of the transfer fees.
With a starting xi age of over 28 there are many aging players at the club that will need to be replaced within
the first and second season and with a €4.7M budget, you will have to sell some older players in order to
make good replacements that will make an impact in your squad.
Players to look out for in this Career Mode save are:
Reine-Adélaïde, Fulgini and Aït Nouri- all are young French prospects that can grow into good quality Ligue 1
players.
SM Caen
Budget: €5.7M
Stadium: Stade Michel d'Ornano (21,500)
In 1993 the club qualified for the Europa League for the first (and only) time in their history where they got
knocked out in the first round by Real Zaragoza. Since then Caen have been moving from the First and
Second division in France as they have struggled to have a structure where they can play consistent football
to at least finish around the mid-table position in Ligue 1. After finishing in the 16th position last season the
club was just 1 point away from being relegated again, which would have made it 4 times being relegated
in 14 years. If you manage SM Caen in FIFA 19 Career Mode your main aim will be to keep the club away
from the relegation zone in the first season and restructure the team's tactics, players and even possibly
formation in order to make sure the club start progressing.
Nîmes Olympique
Budget: €4.1M
Stadium: Stade des Costières (18,482)
Nîmes are a great 'Road To Glory' club for a FIFA 19 Career Mode save as they have been promoted to the
Ligue 1 for the first time in 25 years and with a starting XI age of under 24, the club is full of young talent that
you can train to help them fulfil their potential or potentially even exceed it. As the club have just been
promoted the quality of the players aren't the level they should be for playing in the Ligue 1, therefore,
investments must be made and I would recommend buying one good Youth Academy scout as this is a cost
efficient way of ensuring future success.
FC Toulouse
Budget: €7.2M
Stadium: Stadium Municipal (33,575)
FC Toulouse were founded in 1970 and played in the first and second division during that period. They
made their first Champions League appearance in the 2007/08 season when they finished 3rd in the table
(2006/07), however, all was too much to handle as they finished 17th place but still managed to continue
playing in the Ligue 1 until present day. During the 2017/18 campaign the club finished in the 18th position
which led them to playing in the relegation playoff's where they played AC Ajaccio and won 4-0 on aggregate.
In the transfer window Toulouse sold two massive talents being Diop to West Ham and Lafont to Fiorentina,
which you will have to replace in Career Mode with the €7.2M budget given.
Stade de Reims
Budget: €5.2M
Stadium: Stade Auguste Delaune (21,684)
The 6 time Ligue 1 champions make a return to the top division, after spending two seasons in the Ligue 2.
The club have also finished runners-up in the Champions League back in 1956 and 1959- however from there
the club went downhill, spending 30 years in the 2nd and 3rd division after eventually being promoted back to
the Ligue 1 in 2012. The club have struggled recently to stay in the top division and in the summer transfer
window they spent over £10M to ensure that they can stay in the Ligue 1 for a long time and with young
talents such as Konan and Engels joining the club Stade de Reims will hope they can finally start progressing
and cement themselves as a consistent Ligue 1 club.
If you manage this club in FIFA 19 Career Mode I would recommend you invest in a Goalkeeper and the
Midfield as these are the two weakest spots in the team if you can replace some of the older players with
younger talents in these two areas then that will be a good starting point for success. Would you like to stake
the club back to the Champions League final and hope 3rd times the charm?
Olympique Lyon
Budget: €36.4M
Stadium: Groupama Stadium (59,186)
Finishing in the 3rd position, Lyon will be competing in the Champions League in the 2018/19 campaign,
which will be good for FIFA 19 Career Mode players who will want to be challenged within the first season.
The club have played in the Champions League 12 times, however, have only gone as far as the semi-finals
in the 2009/10 season. Lyon is seen as one of the most supported clubs in France as a survey found out that
11% of the country's football fans supported Lyon. The club are also known for bringing in many young,
talented players either through a good scouting system or via their youth academy and have developed these
players into top quality stars.
The one position I would recommend you invest in is the CB position, the club does currently have two
good CB's however, in order to become a top club you will need to have good quality depth, especially in
the defence. As for objectives within the first season, this team is capable of winning the Ligue 1 straight
away, it will be challenging dethroning PSG, however, it is possible. A long term objective would be to win
the Champions League, which could be possible in a couple of seasons
OGC Nice
Budget: €8.6M
Stadium: Allianz Riviera (35,624)
In 2016 OGC Nice sold 80% of the club to Chinese and American investors the president Jean-Pierre says,
“Their arrival secures the future of the club and will provide the additional resources for continuation of our
vision. While keeping its identity and guidance, OGC Nice will gradually reach new heights.”
It has also been reported that the new investors will help promote Nice's project to increase the brand
awareness and help invest for the future of the club.
OGC Nice have one of the youngest starting xi ages at 24 years old, showing that if you manage this side
there will be lot's of progression made within the first few seasons. There are still replacements to be made
in this team with Dante turning 35, offloading him or brining in a replacement would be a good idea to
make sure that progression isn't halted by declining players. Due to having 'new' investors in real life using
the 60% transfer budget boost could be a realistic idea in order to have more finances and invest for the
future of the club.
