Basic Principle of Graphics and Layout
 INFOGRAPHIC – short term for
information graphic, which refers to an
 image that combines information,
story telling, and perceptions that help
the cause of an individuals or an
 institution to communicate a message
 to viewers.
Basic Elements of Layout and Designs
     LINE
     COLOR
     SHAPE
LINE
This is the most basic of all the
  elements.
It defines the characteristics of an
  infographic.
COLOR
One of the powerful and influential
  elements in an infographic.
Using the right combination of colors
can catch the attention of a passerby
  or even glancing viewer
SHAPES
These are defined by the enclosure
created by a combination of multiple
  lines.
 Shapes express different
  psychological influences on the
  audience especially when combined
  with different colors.

PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN
Directions or guidelines for using the
         elements of design
1.) BALANCE
 A sense of equilibrium.
When establishing balance consider visual weight created by
size, color, texture and number of objects.
   TYPES OF BALANCE
 SYMMETRICAL ASYMMETRICAL
Achieved by placing Achieved by placing
identical objects on different objects of
either side of a central equal visual weight on
point. either side of a central
                               point.
SYMMETRICAL BALANCE
 Creates a quiet,
  restful feeling.
 Suggests restraint,
  orderliness,
  formality.
 Also called,
  FORMAL balance.
Asymmetrical Balance
           Creates more
            interesting
            arrangements.
           Suggests informality,
            relaxed.
           Also referred to as
            INFORMAL balance.
2.) CONTRAST
The arrangement of
elements in an image may be
done by combining elements
with different properties and
characteristics
3.) UNITY
Is when all of the elements
seem to be a singular element
  in unison.
 This makes the design pleasing
  to the viewers.
4.) Proportion
This is the correlation of all the
  elements with one another.
 The practice of having proportion
  among the element ensures
  balance and unity.
5.) Rhythm
 This describes the product of
  having the elements placed in
  harmony with one another.
Rhythm can be done by using
  patterns and by repeating various
  elements.
