This Standard specifies wool, board insulation, felt, wave insulation, lamella products and blankets that are not specified in the cor” responding International Standard as man-made mineral fibre thermal insulation materiale, ‘The portions with continuous sidelines or dotted underlines are the matters in which the contents of the corresponding International Standard have been modified. A list ‘of modifications with explanations is given in Annex JC. Unit: mm i ~ [ eee “gt i Figure 1 Example of load plate and needle 6.18 Measurement procedure 6.1.8.1 Width and length "The procedure for measurement of width and length shall be as follows. ‘2) Remove the facing prior to measurement, ifthe test specimen has facing, and spread flat the specimen in the ease it is wave insulation, lamella product and blanket, and perform the measurement under the condition that no tension is applied, ) Measure the width and length at two positions not less than 100 mm from the periphery of the test specimen specified in 6.1.1 using the measuring instrument specified in 6.1.2 a) to the nearest 1 mm and take the respective average values as the width and length. Insert the needle into the load plate of the exclusive instrament specified in 6.1.2 b) until it eaches the rigid fat plate in a), and while keeping the needle tip protruding from the load plate by more than the thickness of the teat specimen, adjust the needle tip at the measuring position specified in e) and insert the needle perpen= diculary to the test specimen. For the test specimen having facing, insert the nocdle perpendicularly through the hole of facing opened in e). While holding the noodle inserted in the test specimen, plac the load plate gently, along the needle, onto the test specimen, ©) After an elapse of one minute or longer, when sinking ofthe load plate has stopped, detach the load plate from the test specimen while holding the needle tip project: ing from the load plate with fingers.
