IG SYSTEM OPERATING PROCEDURE


STARTING
 OPEN ALL OVERBOARD V/VS FULLY
 START IG SCRUBBER SEAWATER P/P AND ADJUST THE PRESSURE
 FRESH AIR INTAKE TO BE SHUT
 OPEN THE FAN SUCTION V/V OF SELECTED FAN TO OPERATE
 CHECK SEA WATER SUPPLY TO DECK SEAL
 CHECK SEAL LIQUID LEVEL IN PV BREAKER
 PUT O2 ANALYZER IN MEASURING CONDITION
 CONTROL AIR PRESSURE IS CORRECT
 SET THE OPERATION MODE OF CONTROLLER FOR THE IG MAIN V/V AND EXH
V/V IN AUTO
 SET IG DECK MAIN PRESSURE TO 7-8 KPA
 CARRY OUT LAMP & BUZZER TEST AND CONFIRM ALL TO BE IN NORMAL
CONDITION
 CHECK SUFFICIENT ELECTRIC POWER TO DRIVE THE FAN
 SOOT BLOW THE BOILER, IF REQUIRED, SOOT BLOW IS NOT POSSIBLE
DURING IG SYSTEM

OPERATION
 SET THE SYSTEM SELECTROR TO INERT GAS POSITION
 PUT MASTER SWITCH AND CARRY OUT LAMP TEST
 OPEN THE BOILER UPTAKE V/V FULLY AND CONFIRM
 MAKE SURE AIR SEAL V/V IS CLOSED
 START THE FAN
 CHECK RUNNING FAN’S DELIVERY V/V FULLY OPEN 15 SEC AFTER THE FAN
STARTS
 CHECK O2 CONTENT LEVEL TO BE BELOW 5%

STOPPING
 PUSH STOP BUTTON OF INERT GAS SUPPLY SWITCH
 CHECK IG MAIN V/V IS SHUT
 CHECK EXH V/V IS FULLY OPEN
 STOP THE IG FAN
 PUSH STOP BUTTON FOR BOILER UPTAKE V/V & CONFIRM IT IS SHUT
 CHECK AIR SEAL V/V IS FULLY OPEN
 AFTER 30 MIN STOP SEAWATER P/P TO SCRUBBER
