complete. What is the rate of reaction A relative to that of reaction B?
2. Hydrogen peroxide decomposes into oxygen and water according to the
equation: 2H2O2 (l) 2H2O (l) + O2 (g)
The graph below shows the variation of a sample of hydrogen peroxide with

dm-3. Calculate the average rate of reaction in the first 120 s.
4. By the kinetic theory, the average kinetic energy of a system is directly
proportional to its absolute temperature: ½ mv2 α T. Calculate the ratio of the
average velocity at 310 K and 300 K. What can you conclude from the value?
5. S2O82- (aq) + 2 I- (aq) 2 SO42- (aq) + I2 (aq)

(iii) The concentration of S2O82- and I- are both doubled.
6. 2A + B + 3C products
The rate equation is given by: rate = k [A] [B]2

(ii) What is the order with respect to substance C?
(iii) What is the unit for the rate constant, k?
(iv) At a certain concentration of A, B and C, the rate of reaction is y mol dm -
