A Narrative Report On Feeding Program 2017


In order to intensify health and nutrition among grade school children,Balagtas
Heights Elementary School as per headed with Nutrition Coordinator in runnning
targeted supplementary feeding program for wasted and severely wasted
children of this school.The project which was as launched last week September
11,2017, aims reduction of acute malnutrition among grade school children.

Mrs. Mirasol M.Gole Cruz (one of the Health Coordinators of the school)
threshed out those who were severely wasted and and wasted pupils from Grade
1 to Grade 6 levels. These are recipients of the program. The school provides daily
heavy lunch with malunggay, monggo, and kalabasa as main ingredients mixed
with chicken or ground pork. The children are to be fed for 120 days during this
school yer. The budget is 18 pesos per child per meal. The meals are prepared by
the 12 teachers and some PTA officers, following low cost and balanced menus
compiled by Mam Mirsol M.Gole Cruz. In addition, a non-government
organization gives Nurisha juice during their feeding, health care practices such
as handwashing and toothbrushing are also promoted.
