This document (EN 593:2017) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 69 “Industrial valves"
(Secretariat: AFNOR, France).
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was DIN-Normenausschuss Armaturen (DIN
Standards Committee Valves), Working Committee NA 003-01-16 AA “Valves for water supply, diaphragm
valves, check valves and fire hydrant

that the Gesetz tiber Einheiten im Messwesen (German Law on units in metrology) prohibits the use of this
unit for official and commercial purposes in Germany.

‘Amendments
This standard differs from DIN EN $93:2012-03 as follows:
a) the dimensions have been extended to cover PN 2,5 to PN 160, Class 180 to Class 900 and DN 20 to
DN 4000;
b) _ single, double and triple eccentric designs have been included;
© reference to EN 16668 for valves subject to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) has been
included;
4) Annex D giving the correspondence between DN and NPS has been included;
©) Annex £ on valve torque curves at different flow velocities has been included;
) Annex ZA has been updated according to the new PED.
