180 (the International Organization for Standardization) is 2 worldwide federation of
rational standards bodie (ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International
Standards ie normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each member
body intrested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has
‘ho right to be represented on that committee. Internationel organizations, govern-
‘mental and non-governmental in aison with ISO, also take part in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to
‘dye member bodies for approval before their acceptance as Intemational Standards by
‘the ISO Council. They are approved in accordance with [SO procedures requiring at
least 75 % approval by the member bodies voting.
Intemational Standard ISO 683-11 wes prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 17,
‘Stoel
It cancels and replaces ISO Recommendation R 683-11: 1970, of which it constitutes 2
‘echnical revision.
Users should note thet al International Standards undergo revision from time to time
tnd that any reference made hersin to any other Intemational Standard implies its
latest edition, unless otherwise stated.

reanufactured from the caserhardering unaloyed or low
alloyed stools listed in table 3 and supplied in one of the heat
‘uasiment conditions given forthe ciferent types of products in
table 1 ines 2 to 6, and in one of the surface conditions given
In table 2, 7
