Northgate High School

CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT FOR HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT

Courses may be taken by high school students for the purpose of remediation and enrichment.
Students taking a high school course at another institution must be enrolled in no less than six
classes according to Board Policy 6112(a). There is an exception for a 5 period day for seniors
according to Board Policy 6112(b). To review Board Policy 6112(a) & (b) in its entirety, go to the
MDUSD Web Site, search Gamut Online and type in the policy number.
Units from other high school courses can be used for high school credits. Units are to be
determined prior to enrollment. Courses from other institutions must:
A-G approved classes (with the exact same name as the course being remediated)
No online classes
Credits will not be removed from transcripts after they are recorded on the high school
transcript. **If the high school will not put other institution grades on the transcript simply send
the other institutions transcript to colleges.
Weighted grade points will be given by the high school for courses at other institutions deemed
to have equivalencies to the honors or AP courses at the high school.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Fill out the MDUSD Concurrent Enrollment Form and have it approved by your
schools administrator and parent/guardian. (A copy will be retained in student
services.)Turn in the form with your application to the other institutions
admissions office when you register.
2. Complete the bottom of this form and return it to your high school registrar after
registering for the course at the other institution.
3. If the institutions units are to be used for high school credits, submit a request to
the institutions registrars office to have an official transcript sent to the registrar
at your high school.
