INTRODUCTION

(INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT)

Managing the waste is one of the most important aspects that the business

should have. There are lots of things and processes being invented to reduce wastes,

there are many ideas and innovations have been launch to open the eyes of the

businessmen especially to the public in terms of management. One of the basic

processes of managing wastes is through recycling where it is the easiest way of waste

management that even a kid could do. Recycling is the process of converting wastes

materials into reusable objects to prevent wastes of potentially useful materials.

Recycling can also be a way to reinvent things or thinking of other ways to use those

peels. And aside from it, it can be enjoying and people can also make money from it.

Banana is one of the most fruit crops in the Philippines especially in Batangas

Province. It has the largest source of banana in CALABARZON area

(www.calabarzon.da.gov.ph), 2011. Different products can be produce using banana as

the main ingredient. Those products are very familiar with Filipinos such as banana cue,

"turon", banana wine and beer, banana catsup and banana chips.

In Lipa City Public Market, there are many vendors of banana cue and turon

that they need to dispose 1,000 pieces of banana peel everyday. Those wastes are

being collected by the garbage collectors. Those peels do not have use for the garbage

collectors just to dump it, the researchers come up with the idea to use the banana peel

extract as a substitute ingredient in producing a floor wax, since the banana peel have

the potassium that is commonly used in ingredient in shoe polish for the shoes to be

more shiny and also it is known for its slippery effect. Floor wax is a wax-based used to
polish floors. It also intends to increase the hardness and glossiness of the floor and

creates resistant against slips and stuff marks. There are so many brands of floor wax in

the market such as Star Wax and Liwanag floor wax.

Having a commercial floor wax being produced by a candle manufacturer, the

researchers had an idea to manufacture the proposed product to a candle manufacturer

also since the materials used in making candles and floor wax are mostly alike. The

proponents choose the Light Provider as the manufacturer of the floor wax since it is a

business which is specialized in candle making. (80 GRAMS INSERT)

The peel will be collected to the public market and the other raw material will be

ordered like the kerosene. The floor wax that will be produce will be offered to the

supermarkets that sells different brand of floor wax. (DISCUSS THE OUTPUT HOW
