AREA and PERIMETER
Project
While worksheets can be a decent assessment of
what your students know, why not let them have
some creative freedom and show what they
have learned in terms of finding area and
perimeter? Students may choose to create a
robot or their own name out of the provided (or
your own) grid paper. Since I teach in a
collaborative class, I differentiated by having my
higher students make their names and my lower
babies create robots. All of the lines for the robot
parts and the letters must stay on the lines and
make one figure so students can use length x
width = area & length + width + length + width =
perimeter (or in the case of the letters- count up
the perimeter!)
The purpose of the robot and name printouts
above is so students can record their answers in
one neat place- making it easier for us to grade! I
had my students glue theirs to the back of the
construction paper we built our robots and
names on!
