2-1 General Description
Units shall ship in the number of sections necessary to

2-2 Casing
2-2-1 Construction
2-2-1-1 The construction of the AiroVision air handling
units consists of a frame and panels. Profiled 1-mm
thick casing sides of galvanized and coated steel
plates ensure a rigid and light weight frame.

1-2 Delivery, Storage and Protection


A. All units shall be completely shrink-wrapped from
the factory for protection during shipment.
B. All units shall be using transport brackets in fan
section, tighten spring bolt and fan discharge
cover for protection during shipment

2-2-1-2 The frame holds a 60-mm double-skin casing


wall with panels, doors, inspection hatches and
removable center posts.

2-2-4 Thermal and Weather Protection


2-2-4-1 Panels are manufactured from steel sheets
treated with weather and scratch-resistant coating on
both sides RAL 7035, frames and roof are painted with
highly durable heat hardened polyester based powder
paint RAL 7035 with 50 microns film thickness.

2-2-1-3 Unit shall be constructed of a complete frame


with easily removable panels. Removal of any panel
shall not affect the structural integrity of the unit,
thereby facilitating maintenance work.

2-2-4-2 The paint shall conform to ASTM D-2201 and


ASTM D-2092 for gloss, adhesion, impact resistance,
withstand up to 1000 hours salt spray resistance test,
exceeding 500 hours ASTM B117.

2-2-1-4 Unit shall be thermally broken to minimize the


conduction path from the inside of the casing to the
outside. The construction should reducing machine
noise, absorbing vibration and avoiding air leakage.

2-2-5 Profile and Panel Seal
2-2-5-1 Panels and profile frames shall be assembled
with a closed cell self-adhesive polyethylene seal
installed in between them to prevent air leakage,
reduce vibration noise and minimized thermal losses.

2-2-5-2 A closed cell self-adhesive polyethylene seal


shall avoid external water from penetrate inside the
unit and shall block heat infiltration and avoid external
contamination into the conditioned space area inside
the unit.

2-2-2 Profile Frame


2-2-2-1 Heavy-duty profile frame made from
galvanized steel, fully welded and hermetically sealed
at the ends, profile is more robust and can be
repeatedly disassembled. Profile is coating according
to ASTM A 653/A 653 M-01.

2-2-6 Casing Air Leakage


The construction of panels to the profile frames shall
provide minimum air leakage Class L1. Casing
leakage tested and conformed to Eurovent Standard
EN 1886.

2-2-2-2 Profile frames are painted with highly durable


heat hardened polyester based powder paint RAL
7035 with 50 microns film thickness.
2-2-3 Double Skin Panel
2-2-3-1 Modular panel is design to be rigid and sturdy.
Made of durable galvanized sheet steel treated with a
weather and scratch-resistant coating on both sides,
Base color grey (RAL-7035).

2-2-7 Doors and Access Panels


2-2-7-1 Hinge type with handle and lock can only be
opened with a special key, access door panel
equipped with metal hinges with plastic cover. EPDM
rubber sealed at door perimeter provides an effective
airtight and protection from heat gain.

2-2-3-2 The standard casing wall construction consists


of 0.8 mm internal and external skin with injected
polyurethane, fire retardant according to DIN 4102
class B2, 40kg/m3 density, 0-19 W/M C K value.

2-2-7-2 Access door type shall be at the Fan Section,


filter section and the Mixing Box Section. View port can
be added (optional). View port shall have double skin
(there shall be glass on both interior and exterior
surfaces of the viewing glass).

2-2-3-3 The doors and the panels shall be formed by


bending the panel external sheet metal over the
internal sheet metal so that closed panel structure
resistant to water and steam will be obtained. Bended
external sheet metal structure of the panel (preventing
the formation of sharp edges) also reduces the risk of
any possible injuries during mounting and
maintenance.

2-2-7-3 Safety Access Panels hinged access door


type accessible internally and externally.
2-2-7-4 Removable Access Panels - the fixing of panel
to the profile frames with bolts provide additional
access to ease mobility for major service work on large
and heavy component such as coil, fan and motor.

2-2-3-4 Tested for strength at 1000 Pascal with


deflection < 1 mm/m and without permanent deflection
at 2500 Pascal, confirmed to EN 1886 Class D1.

2-2-8 Roof (optional)


2-2-8-1 Roof prevents water penetration on top
surfaces of the AHU when installed outdoor. Silicone
shall be applied to the profile joints on the outer
surface of the unit, increasing insulation against water.

3-2-7 Metal linkage made from steel pushrods is


installed for dampers with top-rear position to allow
damper to inter connected at open and closed position.
3-2-8 Damper blades quadrant shall be assembled to
guide blades opening and closing position.

2-2-8-2 Heavy gauge (G16) galvanized steel grade


G90 and powder painted RAL7035, 50 microns thick.

3-2-9 Hinged type access door is assemble at Mixing


Box Section.

2-2-9 Roof Curb (Base Frame)


2-2-9-1 A base shall be provided under the unit to
avoid contact of the bottom surface of the unit with the
others surfaces during transportation and installation,
and to ensure required body strength. The height of
the base shall be 62 mm, 160 mm base frame is
available as an option.

3-2-10 Damper torque is printable from AiroVision


selections for dampers, 2-Way Mixing Box and 3-WayMixing Box.

Part-4 Air Filters


4-1 Preliminary Filters
4-1-1 Preliminary filter shall be made from synthetics
media, in flat form or pleated form, shall be with
galvanized steel frames, cleanable and washable.

2-2-9-2 Roof curb profiles, where the unit will be


carried, shall be of closed section, high welded w and
thus risk of its deformation during transportation shall
be minimized.
2-2-9-3 Supplied with multiples holes to suit optimum
hoisting stability.

4-1-2 Aluminum filter (Metallic) shall be from wire


mesh form, shall be with galvanized steel frames,
cleanable and washable.

2-2-9-4 Roof curb shall be from heavy gauge (2mm)


galvanized steel, longitudinally welded with the profile,
connected with 3 mm crossbar to form strong and rigid
structure.

4-2 Secondary Filters


4-2-1 Soft bag filters is up to 500 mm depth synthetics
bag media and supported with galvanized steel
frames.

Part-3 Air Mixing Section

4-2-2 Built from strong, robust materials they display


excellent abrasional resistance and perform well up to
100% relative humidity and in high airflow and heavy
dust loading conditions.

3-1 General Description


3-1-1 Dampers construction are made from heavy
gauge galvanized steel for sturdy and rigid structure.
3-1-2 Nylon or bronze bushing, metal side linkages
enable damper blades to operate within low torque.

4-3 HEPA/Absolute Filter


4-3-1 Absolute filter is up to 630-mm depth synthetics
or glass fiber bag media and supported with
galvanized steel or aluminum frames.

3-2 Damper Construction


3-2-1 Dampers blades shall be with a single skin
laminar type, made from galvanized steel, operate in
parallel or oppose blades position.

4-3-2 Absolute air filter DOP-efficiency ranged from


95% up to 99.99% equivalent to EU10 up to EU12.

3-2-2 Standard class IV air leakage, 0.5% leakage rate


at 100 Pascal P per square meter damper area,
according to UL555S.

4-4 Filter Mounting Frame


4-4-1 Mounting frame is made from galvanized steel
and filter can be accessed on to the mounting frame
from front (front or rear access or existing frame
mounting) or slide (side mounting) type.

3-2-3 Side and blade seal damper with Class II air


leakage, 0.2% leakage rate at 100 Pascal P per
square meter damper area, (optional).

4-4-2 Frame mounting or Slide rails should be sealed


for a minimal air leak Class F8 according to EN 1886.

3-2-4 Shafts are with 12 mm diameter, seated on noncorrosive bronzed or nylon bushing for less resistance,
free maintenance and lowest torque.

Part-5 Coil Constructions

3-2-5 Extended shaft length is provided for provision to


electrical motor actuator to regulate dampers blades
opening and closing.

5-1 General Description


5-1-1 Coils shall be of the cartridge type, mounted on a
condensate drain pan with a slide in-out coil track so
that the complete assembly is wholly removable for
easy maintenance.

3-2-6 Frames are made from galvanized steel,


reinforced at every 1200-mm and flanged at both ends
to facilitate external ductwork or sand trap louvers
connection.

5-1-2 Coils fabricated and tested in accordance with


ASHRAE/ANSI 15 Safety Code for Mechanical
Refrigeration (latest edition).

5-2 Coil Construction


5-2-1 Standard coil fins material shall be aluminum or
copper or pre-coated aluminum. Aluminum coated
steel fin is standard for steam coil.

5-4 High Efficiency Moisture Eliminator


5-4-1 Mineral reinforced PVC eliminator profile, highly
efficient to trap moisture molecules at much higher
velocity 4- m/s.

5-2-2 Standard fin thickness is 0.12 mm, Fins density


can be from 8 FPI up to 14 FPI.

5-4-2 Eliminator shall be installed at downstream of the


coil whenever face velocity approaching 2.5 m/s (2.3
m/s for fresh air coil at highly humid condition).

5-2-3 Fins shall be a collar type, assembled with 12.7


mm OD copper tubes (steel fins and steel tube for
steam coils) and mechanically bonded to copper tube
for greater heat transfer coefficient.

5-5 Coil Section Access Panel


5-2-1 Removable panel shall be assembled at both left
and right side of coil section.

5-2-4 Standard copper tube 12.7 OD with 0.41 mm


wall thickness.

5-2-2 Coil panels shall be bolted externally, air tight


sealed, easy removal and quick reassemble to
facilitate access for service and maintenance.

5-2-5 Coil Frames are made from galvanized steel and


painted for additional protection. Stainless steel SS
304 coil frames are available (optional).

Part-6 Electric Heater Section


6-1 General Description
6-1-1 Electric heater shall be of the cartridge type.

5-2-6 Coil assembly shall sit within coil section face


area and seal to the casing wall to avoid air by-pass,
plate by-pass of removable type for easy access to
header section.

6-1-2 Heaters shall be framed with a slide in-out track


so that the complete assembly is removable.

5-2-7 Water coil headers are made from black steel


barrel and connection with threaded end (11 TPI) steel
stub, seamless copper barrel is available (option).

6-2 Standard Electric Heater Closed Tubular


Finned Type
6-2-1 Standard electric heater shall be from Closed
Tubular Finned Type, composition 80% Ni and 20% Cr.

5-2-8 Water coil headers connection of copper, sweat


type is available as an option.

6-2-2 Heating component is according to AISI 321 and


AISI 430.

5-2-9 DX coil headers shall be all copper tubes with


sweat connection type.

6-2-3 Assembly of the heating element is secured


inside the stainless steel spherical sheathed fins
copper tube (except for heater for 460 volt heater
without spherical fins).

5-2-10 Headers connections are sealed internally and


externally with rubber seal to avoid air leaking through
gap at coil panels.

6-2-4 Heater assembly, the basic components shall be


a airflow switch, power terminal board, grounding lug
and primary & secondary over load temperature
sensor.

5-2-11 Coils shall be counter flow and equipped with


vent and drain (drain and vent - water coil only).
5-2-12 Coils shall be tested at 300-psig submerged
under water, designed to operate up to 230 psig (16
Bar) at 200F (93C).

6-2-5 Components are assembled inside terminal box


integrated with heating elements frame assembly.

5-2-13 Extended header connections outside the coil


section shall be protected with metal shield to avoid
any damage during transportation.

6-2-6 Frames shall be from a heavy gauge (G16)


galvanized steel frame.
6-3 Electric Heater Section Access Panel
6-3-1 Removable panel shall be assembled at electric
heater section.

5-3 Condensate Drain Pan


5-3-1 Single skin drain pan insulated with 60 mm
panels from all sides.

6-3-2 Panels shall be bolted externally, air tight sealed,


easy removal and quick reassemble to facilitate
access for service and maintenance.

5-3-2 Drain pan shall be mounted in slanted angle at


one side for complete and positive drainage, drain
connection shall be at one side.
5-3-3 Standard drain pan made of galvanized steel
and powder painted. Stainless steel SS304 drain pan
available as a standard option.

Part-7 Fan and Drive Section

7-2-10 Standard fan bearings R versions are


eccentric clamp bearing type, single row ball bearing,
mounted in pressed steel housing, pre-lubricated and
sealed for life.

7-1 DIN and AMCA DIDW Fans


7-1-1 Fan shall be forward, backward and airfoil
curved, double inlet and double width (DIDW)
centrifugal type.

7-2-11 Reinforced fan bearings


7-2-11-1 K versions are self-aligning single row ball
bearing, mounted inside cast iron pillow blocks, with
grease nipples, bolted to the side-frames.

7-1-2 Direct Drive DIDW Aerofoil fans and plug fans


are available (optional).

7-2-11-2 K1 versions reinforced single row, sealed ball


bearings, locked on the shaft with a conical sleeve,
mounted inside cast iron pillow blocks, with grease
nipples, bolted to the side-frames.

7-1-3 Forward and backward fans are AMCA-200 air


performance accredited.
7-1-4 Forward and backward fans are sound power
level measurement according to AMCA 300 & 301.

7-2-11-3 K2 versions, Sealed heavy-duty bearings.


For fan size 500 single row ball bearings with conical
sleeve inside cast iron pillow blocks.
For fan size 560,630,710 and 800 Double-row ball
bearings with conical sleeve inside split block
housings.
For fan size 900 & 1000 Double row, self-aligning roller
bearings inside single piece pillow blocks.

7-1-5 Airfoil fans are accredited for AMCA 300 & 301
Sound power and AMCA - 200 for Air Performance.
7-1-6 Sound power level measured values have been
converted to other operating speeds with a calculation
procedure described in the BS 848 Part 2 standard,
7-1-7 Outlet side sound power levels according to ISO
5136, DIN 45635 Part 9, BS 848 Part 2 Chapter 6 or
AMCA 330-97.

7-2-11-4 All the pillow blocks shall have grease nipples


for lubrication and shall be bolted to specially
reinforced side-frames.

7-2 DIDW Fan Construction


7-2-1 Blades of the fans shall be from galvanized steel.

7-2-12 Bearings nominal life expectancy shall be


40,000 L10 operating hours (according to DIN ISO 281
Section 1).

7-2-2 Backward and airfoil fans blades shall be treated


with polyester powder coat RAL 7030.

7-3 IEC TEFC Fan Motor


7-3-1 Design and performance shall be according to
IEC Standards.

7-2-3 Fan scroll from hot dip galvanized steel JIS


G3302 Grade SGCC.

7-3-2 Fan motor shall be suitable to operate with


Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) or Frequency Inverter
(FI) application.

7-2-4 No electrical spot welding is used as the scroll


back is joined to the side plates with the Pittsbourgh
lock forming system. This prevents any oxidation
starting from the welding spots.

7-3-3 Fan motor shall able to operate at maximum


50% of rated speed. At 50% of rated speed, the fan
motor shall deliver 80% of rated torque and 40% of
rated power.

7-2-5 Light-construction side frames of the R versions


are made with cold-formed, galvanized steel
Sendzimir type EN 10142.

7-3-4 Standard fans motor shall be a Totally Enclosed


Fan Cooled type (TEFC).

7-2-6 Heavy-duty side frames of the K, K1, K2,


versions are made with hot-rolled steel sections
welded and coated with alchidic-melamminic paint
RAL 7030.

7-3-5 Motors frame shall be from aluminum up to


frame size or cast iron.

7-2-7 Wheel shall be statically and dynamically


balance within fan operating speed in compliance to
DIN ISO Standard 1940 with grade G4.

7-3-6 Index of Protection shall be with IP 55, motor


shall be protected against dust and protected against
jets of water from all direction.

7-2-8 Fan shafts made from C45 carbon steel bars, All
the shafts are coated, after assembly, with a clearly
distinguishable, bright yellow protective paint.
Stainless steel shafts can be provided on request
(option).

7-3-7 Insulation Class F (T max 155 C) and


Temperature Rise Class B (T 80K).
7-3-8 Motor shall able to operate at 50C operating
temperature.

7-2-9 Shaft diameters are selected to achieve a safety


factor for critical speed 1.25 higher than the
maximum operating speed.

7-3-9 Motor shall have a thermal reserve to spare for


overheating when induced by voltage fluctuation at
10%, compliance to IEC 34-1.

7-3-10 Thermal Overload Protection Normally Closed


Thermostat (PTO) shall be a standard accessory.

8-1-5 Wheel housing made of galvanized steel,


cartridge type, slide-in and slide-out installation into
heat wheel section.

Note: PTO shall provide general surveillance for nontransient overload. Bi-metallic strip with normally
closed contact is indirectly heated when line current
passes through the strip and shall shut down or
restores supply circuits as necessary. PTO connection
shall be mounted to control circuit and suitable for
manual or automatic reset.

8-2 Sorption, molecular sieve desiccant wheel,


Eurovent certified.
8-2-1 Rotor to recover sensible heat and latent heat to
a high degree.
8-2-2 The sorptive coating of the enthalpy rotor
provides an expanded capacity in transferring
humidity.

7-3.11 Positive Temperature Coefficient thermistor


(PTC) shall provide general surveillance for transient
overload and shall be mounted and connected to a
relay in control circuit (option).

8-2-3 Storage matrix made of standard aluminium foil


set up of alternating layers of flat and corrugated foils.
Surface is coated with a special molecular sieve to
achieve very good sorptive properties.

7-4 Highest Efficiency Vibration Isolation


7-4-1 Fan and motor assemble on a common base,
FMB, fabricated from heavy gauge galvanized steel or
cast iron steel.

8-2-4 Foil layers are stabilized together by means of


interior radial spokes, fixed at hub and rim in special
design for long term form stability (rotor >800mm).
Winded up to rotor 2600mm.

7-4-2 Motor rail shall be a slide rail type for flexible belt
tensioning.

8-3 Sorption, molecular sieve 3 desiccant wheel,


AHRI and Eurovent certified.
8-3-1 Rotor to recover sensible heat and latent heat to
a very high degree.

7-4-3 Fan and motor assembly are totally isolated from


AHU casing structure by isolators and flexible canvas.
7-4-4 Rubber isolators capable to achieve standard
vibration isolation efficiency E80 up to E85.

8-3-2 The sorptive coating of the enthalpy rotor


provides an expanded capacity in transferring
humidity.

7-4-5 Spring isolator, 250 micron powder paint, 50 mm


free deflection capable to achieve critical vibration
isolation efficiency E95 up to E99.9.

8-3-3 Storage matrix made of standard aluminium foil

7-4-6 Fan shall be isolated to discharge panel with fire


retardant fan flexible connection.

7-5 Pulleys and Belts


7-5-1 Fan drive package shall consist of fan and motor
pulleys and assembled with Wedge belts.
7-5-2 Variable pitch pulley shall be available at motor
drive up to 15 HP (11 kW) - option.

8-4 Hygroscopic Aluminum wheel, Eurovent


certified.
8-4-1 Hygroscopic Rotor is a cost-efficient solution to
recover sensible heat and transfer latent heat. It is
suitable for standard applications in comfort ventilation.

7-5-3 Standard belt Service Factor designed at
