COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course concerns the study of entrepreneurship in general. This is intended for MBA
students who are working for an entrepreneurial company, have existing business ventures, or
have plans to start an entrepreneurial activity in the future.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the semester, the student will be able to develop skills for identifying and
evaluating business opportunities which can be in the form of a new entrepreneurial venture or
a new initiative within an existing business of which team projects are specifically helpful.
Class activities such as topical presentations, participation during class discussions, and
analyses of topical reports will sharpen both your written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge and understanding about basic principles in entrepreneurship will be enhanced and
measured through your performance in the final examination.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Attendance. Your attendance will be checked by affixing your signatures on the attendance
sheet. Anyone who gets a perfect attendance will receive additional 25 points on the final exam
score. Perfect attendance means being present in all class sessions. Those with excused
absences will not be given the bonus score. Excused absences must be accompanied with
excused letters.
Topical Report. Each pair will choose a topic based on the course outline. Contents of your
reports must be based on the textbook. Submit the same to tfvcdbaa@gmail.com a week before
your scheduled report.
Analyses of Topical Reports. At the end of each report, each student will write a brief but
concise analysis of the report/s presented. Please see the attached document which serves as
your answer sheet for topical report analyses.
Team Project. The class will be divided into four (4) groups. Each group will work on a team
project which will allow them to apply concepts and principles of this course to a real venture in
entrepreneurship. The group may assist a classmate, a friend, or a neighbor who is interested in
entrepreneurial activity.
An online store/e-commerce website is required for this project. The name and nature of the
company, its products and services, and other relevant information about the business venture
will be posted in the e-commerce website.
Each team will be presenting their reports on March 12 and should last for 10-15 minutes only
per team presentation. Please use an audio-visual aid (preferably multi-media projector). The

paper should be submitted in hard copy and submit the same electronically to
tfvcdbaa@gmail.com.
Final Exam. For the final exam, questions will be composed of essay questions. Final
examination will be administered during the regular examination week.
