Det-Tronics University Course 102: Eagle Quantum Premier Advanced Training Course Description

Prospectus (from Website) This three-day factory class (two day onsite) is designed for System Integrating Engineers, Designers, and Maintenance personnel. Curriculum will cover Eagle Quantum Premier System hardware, software, configuration, logic programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance. This course does not apply to other standard flame and gas detection systems. Duration Three days (factory) or two days (onsite). Primary Course Objectives After completing this course, a student will be able to: Identify compatible components of an EQP System. Understand terminology associated with an EQP system (such as LON, EQP, PIR, DCU, DCUEX, AIM, SAM, ARM, IPM, HSSL). Wire and configure EQP System hardware components (including Controller, Eclipse Gas, X3301 Flame, DCIO, DCU w/Toxic Gas Simulator, Solenoid, Manual Call, and Strobe). Understand the function of the ports on the controller (including RS232, RS485, Digital and Relays, Power, etc.). Understand functions of the EQP System Controller (including redundancy, upgrades, display options, and local menu navigation and display outputs). Program the controller with typical fire and gas detection schemes using Safety System Software (S3) Logic. Understand the functional capabilities of the menu structure of the Safety System Software (S3) to navigate and locate functions of the program necessary to commission and maintain the system. Access point display information via the Safety System Software (S3). Calibrate and maintain EQP System compatible flame detectors, gas detectors, and other applicable system components. Troubleshoot the EQP System for faults, shorts, and opens. Apply the appropriate input/output modules to connect various fire and gas system components and other compatible 3rd party devices. (Factory Course Only) Understand the quality processes that Det-Tronics applies to its operations, design, manufacturing, testing, and support of each Eagle Quantum Premier product.

Intended Audience EQP system integrating engineers, designers, and maintenance personnel.

Recommended Prerequisites Understanding of fire and gas detection principles and measurement technologies. Familiarization with applicable fire and gas code requirements and standards. Fundamental understanding of electricity, electronics, and applicable wiring codes and practices. Ability to operate a multimeter. Fundamental understanding of applicable HMI/DCS/PLC interfaces and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, ControlNet, OPC, or HART. Practical experience installing, commissioning, operating, and maintaining industrial measurement and control equipment.
