REASON: To reduce configuration additional pumps. spline wear in the pump drive train, an improved spline featuring heavier drive and shouldered shafts with an spline adapter may be installed in existing dual element P/N 02-15097 of the present
The new shouldered shaft (or coupling) which replaces the Shaft has a 20-tooth, 24/48 pitch internal spline instead lo-tooth 32/64 pitch spline.
The new drive shaft is similar to the existing P/N 02-14622 Shaft except the coupling has a 15-tooth 32/64 pitch spline instead of the IO-tooth 32/64 pitch spline. The increased contact area reduces unit loading on the splines by approximately 50 percent. A more ductile material spline adapter, or muff, is to be installed between the internal splines on the coupling and the external splines on the drive shaft to absorb any possible wear without any hard wear debris which could compound wear. Part No. 6877719 and 6876803 to incorporate the improved
