Conjunctions vs.
Prepositions
Conjunctions and prepositions are often confused
- They are both connecting words
- Prepositions generally connect nouns or pronouns into a sentence
- Often times the same words are used in prepositions and
subordinating conjunctions
- The surrounding words and sentence will determine if it is a
preposition or a subordinating conjunction
Conjunctions vs.
Conjunctions do more in a sentence
Prepositions
- Conjunctions can connect any two like elements
- Conjunctions can connect verbs which means they can connect
sentences
- Usually when a verb is used, it is a conjunction
