CEMTEC P.U. PRIMER is a single component polyurethane-based primer used to promote adhesion of polyurethane joint sealants to concrete, aluminum, and glass. It is packaged in 1 gallon or 20 liter pails with a viscosity of 1000-2000 cps, 60% solids by weight and 50% by volume. Coverage is approximately 30 square meters per gallon. The primer dries within 8 hours at 30 degrees C and has a shelf life of 6 months. Surfaces must be prepared by sandblasting or other cleaning before application of the primer by brush, roller, or spray followed by the polyurethane sealant within 1-24 hours.

JOINT SEALANT PRIMER
CEMTEC P.U. PRIMER is a single component
polyurethane-based primer, that is used to promote adhesion of polyurethane joint sealants to
concrete, aluminium and glass surfaces.

and 20 liters pail.

COVERAGE
Approximately 30 sq. meter per gallon. However,
porous surfaces will require slightly more material.
CLEAN-UP
Because of difficulty in cleaning up or removing
cured primer, equipment and tools must be
cleaned immediately after use with Xylene or
MEK. If cleaning operations are performed in areas where safety regulations do not permit to
the use of flammable solvent, 1,1,1,
trichloroethane may be used. Used only water
base hand cleaners for skin clean up.

DIRECTION FOR USE


Surface preparation:All surfaces that are to be
coated with Cemtec P.U. Primer, must be free
from contamination such as curing compounds,
concrete hardeners, bond breakers etc. (we recommend curing concrete with water instead of
using any concrete curing compound) All surfaces must be clean, sound and dry. Sandblasting is recommended when possible, otherwise,
bleaching and wire brushing may be sufficient.
APPLICATION
CEMTEC P.U. PRIMER can be applied by brush,
roller or spray.For best results, the surface that
has been coated with CEMTEC P.U. PRIMER,
should be allowed to cure a minimum of one
hour before application of polyurethane sealant.
If for some reason, the primer is allowed to cure
in excess at 24 hours,the surface should be reprimed with CEMTEC P.U. PRIMER before applying sealant. CEMTEC P.U. PRIMER should
not be applied over standing water, as full adhesion and penetration will not be obtained. The
usage of primer is approximately 1 gallon per 30
gallon of Joint Sealant. The containers that have
been opened, must be used within one or two
days, since it is a moisture re-active materials.
