Tragic Accident Kills Ten TAPAH, THURS.10 JUN 2013: A joyful trip to Cameron Highlands turned into a tragedy when a bus driver lost control of the chartered bus when headed in the corner of the slope and connected crashed into three car in front of it. At the same time, the bus straight plunged 500 metres down a ravine at the 10th kilometre Tapah-Cameron Highlands highway, this morning. But the remaining of three car didn't plunged down a ravine, just bump together tightly at side of the highway road. Ten people were killed and twenty five other, injured. As we reporters rushed to the scene, we saw bus parts strewn everywhere, together with torn bags and personal belongings. Passengers were screaming with pain and anguish. Other did not scream. For them, it was too late. They died upon impact during the crash. Another side, the whole people of the three car were killed and the first car 's driver was flying off to the road. The dead have been identified as Asmah Mydin, Latif Shukor, Bala Maniam, Leela, Siti Losli, David Lee, Suhali Abdullah, Abu Abdullah and Siti Norhalizah. Passing motorist who witnessed the accident immediately called the police. Many stopped to help the victims. The police and several ambulances arrived within minutes of the accident. Several motorists helped to rush the victims to the Tapah Hospital. A doctor who was on his way to the highland resort, stopped to provide emergency help. The crash was so severe that the top of the bus was ripped off. Police have detained the bus driver for questioning. He was dazed but slight injured by the accident. This is the fifth accident this year on the same stretch of the road.
