Mindfulness Practices for Students

Mindfulness for Academic Success Modules

Course Overview This course has more a practical focus than most other University subjects, so the emphasis is more on gaining a practical personal experience of mindfulness and its benefits and less on the academic study of mindfulness. Having said that, you are encouraged to read as widely on the subject as you wish to, and broaden your learning in whatever way makes sense to you. You will find short practical activities throughout the modules. You are expected to practise these and to reflect on your experiences. The activities will generally increase in length as you move through the modules. The course consists of weekly sessions of one hour s duration via !dobe "onnect sessions, over four weeks. #essions will include instruction, discussion, and mindfulness practice sessions. $n addition, participants will be asked to undertake daily mindfulness practice sessions at home in their own time and to keep a log of their experiences.
