Vision Statement:
The National Guard Bureau (NGB) J8, Programs and Requirements Directorate integrates with Office of the Secretary of Defense, Services, Interagency, as well as the 54 States, Territories and District of Columbia to serve as the lead for ensuring National Guard (NG) resources are placed against priorities supporting the National Defense Strategy. The J8 will be proactive in identifying future requirements and synchronizing a program and budget to successfully resource and posture the National Guard of 2030 and beyond.

Mission Statement:
The NG J8 conducts analysis on future requirements, generates capabilities to resolve those requirements, and advocates for resources to fulfill requirements for National Guard Title 10, Title 32, and State Active Duty (SAD) overseas and domestic missions.
