Classes of Membership

Interested in making a difference at MedicAlert® Foundation NZ? There are multiple classes of membership that offer different responsibilities and benefits. Read more to find out which one suits you.

Requirements

  • Elected by Ordinary Members at the Foundation’s AGM
  • Appointment terms to the board apply, usually 3 years, but may be determined by the Chair to maintain board continuity and avoid a high changeover of directors in any one year.  
  • Must be an elected Ordinary Member to be nominated to stand for election to the Board.

Benefits

  • Reasonable costs met with the approval of the Chair.
  • Determining, ratifying and/or oversight of compliance with the Societies policies, financial budgets, performance objectives and statutory obligations.

Requirements

  • Elected by Members Any adult person resident in New Zealand and elected to the membership by simple majority of Board members present at a Board meeting.

Benefits

  • Eligible to be elected as a Board Member subject to Charities Law.
  • Eligible to attend, speak and vote at all general meetings of the Foundation.
  • Entitled to receive the Foundation’s annual report and each issue of any other report published by the Foundation.

Requirements

  • Enrol to benefit from the Foundation’s Charitable Services and supplies.
  • Membership Service Fees and other charges apply.
  • Members that joined prior to 1 July 2007 are classified as 'Foundation Members'.
  • Agree to abide by the most current version of the 'Member Terms Statement' which states the terms and conditions of Service Membership.

Benefits

  • Receive 24/7 Emergency Health Information Services as explained throughout this website with an inherently linked Medical ID, which enables access to digital services and records in an emergency.
  • Foundation Members have reduced Membership Service Fees.

Requirements

  • Any person or corporate body that is nominated by an Ordinary Member and conferred by the Board.

Benefits

  • Recognition by the Foundation of an individual or corporate body for their support of the Foundation.

Requirements

  • Membership conferred by MedicAlert® Foundation Board in recognition of a significant contribution to the work of the Foundation by the recipient.
