‘You Are White, Right? Are You Half?’ Jesse Watters Presses Black Co-Host Harold Ford Jr. To Wear ‘White Dudes for Harris’ Hat

Fox host Jesse Watters pressed his black Democratic co-host Harold Ford Jr. to wear a White Dudes For Harris hat repeatedly insisting that the former congressman was “white” and asking if he was “half” as his colleague hesitated to entertain the bit, prompting other guests to ask Watters to “stop.”

In a segment by Ford Jr. about the Harris campaign’s new merchandise, a camo print Harris-Walz hat not unlike the red MAGA hats worn by supporters of former President Donald Trump, Watters pulled out the hat during Thursday’s show The Five mocking the campaign’s group call drive to connect with different groups of voters.

Ford Jr asked: “Is Kamala trying to copy the red MAGA hat? The Harris campaign making a million bucks off a Harris-Walz camo hats which they called the new status symbol for Democrats. Did you order your camo hat or did you do something else?”

Watters, holding up another hat, replied: “I got White Dudes For Harris right here and I’m not going to put it on. For one reason, I don’t want to mess up my hair, but two, I’m not for Harris so I’m going to give it to you.”

The host offered the hat to Ford Jr., adding: “…a white dude for Harris. You are white, right? You’re white. Are you half?”

“I will give it to my father-in-law,” Ford Jr. conceded.

“No, you wear that, Harold,” Watters insisted. “I give this as a gift and you put it on your beautiful head.”

“I appreciate that,” Ford Jr. said. “Red, white and blue.”

“Stop it, Jesse,” co-host Jeanine Pirro cut in.

Watters continued: “You won’t wear it, so you’re not a Harris supporter?”

“I am,” Ford Jr. replied, laughing awkwardly while holding the hat.

Watters taunted: “Not going to mess up your hair? Come on, Harold, put the hat on!”

Deferring to Pirro, Ford Jr. then asked her take on the hat merchandise so that the panel could move on.
