About the Author

Jack Weiner is an emeritus professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Guelph, in Guelph, Ontario (Canada). He has over 30 years of experience teaching mathematics, including 5 years of teaching at the high school level. He has won both the University of Guelph's Professorial Teaching Award and the prestigious Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations Teaching Award. In an annual Canada-wide university survey conducted by Maclean's magazine, he was listed as a "Popular Professor" eight years out of nine. Jack has been using Maple for teaching, writing and recreation for over 15 years.
