I've recently started to move my Maple software development from pure Maple to Visual Studio Code with GitHub. Previous code attachments in workbooks are now moved to its own folders, and fetched by the $include instruction.

The approach works quite well, but I have experienced a strange effect. While the Maple workbook itself is in the local GitHub folder, I do experience that when documents within the Maple workbook, after a while the code is fetched from the backup location. This doesn't work, as the $included files can't be found there. Only way is to close the workbook, and open it again.

First image shows location of Maple workbook, second location of document (backup position, error), third location of document after reopening workbook (working).

I'm struggling getting read statements to work in code attachments.

Are there any limitations for the read command?

Hi, how can I apply classic geometric transformations (rotation, scaling, reflection, etc.) to an imported photo? For example, with this image

Thanks

Just wonder if there are any known issues when using dots in Maple code attachment names?

Only issue so far that I can see is that error messages are split a bit strange.

While working a test workbook in Maple 2023 - added a file went away for a while and came back and started adding code to the workbook when I suppose it did an autosave and this error came up 4x in a row.

Hello,

I am regularly using tabled data for things like material properties, or other tabled look-up data from induustry or custom datasets.

I have not used workbooks within Maple and yet see that exel files or other data sets can be "connected(?)" in the workbook tree.  Is this helpful?

What is the best practice view of connecting to DB data and looking up variables that repeat project to project or worksheet to worksheet - without pulling into memory the full datasets for each ref call?

All thoughts appreciated.

P.S., Tables vs. dataframes are a slight confusing matter also.  The access to the cell info seems different based on dataframe/table/matrix type.  I have no problems with matrix element access.

Thanks,
Bill

Anyone keen to spend some time helping me with an error?

I'm getting the error mentioned above with Maple 2022 (but can also be reproduced in 2021).

Originally the error comes from within a company library, but I've managed to reproduce it without the library by merging the library in the workbook.

The error arises during a simple addition / subtraction operation, and I have no clue why.

P.S.: I've also filed a request to Maple support on this one.

Can someone confirm, that autosave is not implemented for workbooks?

The only thing I can restore form a workbook session are specific worksheets of the workbook that I was working on.

None of the Maple codes are saved for example.

This is a major issue, folks. If you haven't implemented it, you need to tell us about it in the help document.

IN CAPITAL LETTERS!

I can't move files in the navigator window anymore in Maple 2021.2.

Anyone else with the same problems?

I'm getting a strange error today when trying to save a file on the network. Rebootet machine, no change.

Any hints?

Hi,

As I am continuing to use Maple, I find I use multiple customized worksheets and documents as well as a maple student guide or AEM guide.......How can I save the workspace with these other documents so that I don't have to rebuild them everytime I use that customized Maple system?

Thanks for your help!

Frank

Setup:
I am working with a 'large' data set( ~70MB .csv file).  Using the import command I can import the data into a maple worksheet.  After import the dimension of the imported object 434000 rows by 30 columns.  The first 2 columns contain time stamp strings, the rest are numeric.

Issue:
Importing this data set takes about 5 minutes everytime the command is called, which is everytime the worksheet is opened or re executed.  This is a lot of redundent processing.

Question:
Is there a way that I can import the data once and have it saved as a variable in the variable manager associated with the worksheet?  I want to avoid using the import command in a reduent manner.

Using a Cyrillic font in the Combo Box component gives an runtime error when saving workbook file (*.maple file extension).

Select the second item in Combo Box component and press save button.

Would be nice if someone could add Maple 2021 to Software Change Requests list.

Right now Maple 2021 is unusable for us due to a big problem related to saving workbooks.

I've experienced problems a couple of times when trying to save a workbook in Maple 2021.

At first I thought it was due to a unstable VPN connection, but this also happens on a local drive.
