A Thousand Steps

It took me nearly two weeks to finish this 355-page book. You have to get at least two-thirds of the way in before it gets really interesting. Still, if you're old enough to be jonesing for a nostalgic trip back to late-1960s Southern California, this could be just the ticket to that groovy vibe. Relive the magic of your psychedelic shenanigans.

I’m with you on this! Just finished this book and it was pretty disappointing that the last 20 pages is when we really “solve the mystery” - I also rated it 3/5

Up until close to the end a lot of it felt very repetitive, with the same characters asking the same questions over and over again. I much prefer this author's older standalone thrillers from WAY back.
