I wish I were…. “The list includes books challenged for a variety of reasons: LGBTQIA+ content, sexual references, religious viewpoints, content that addresses racism and police brutality, and profanity,” the ALA explained. “Although the reasons differ, the censorship of literature in libraries share a common result: the violation of our First Amendment rights.”
I don’t get it. This was a classic that was on my high school curriculum 🤷♀️

Danielle, how does this involve LGBTQIA+ content? I have read it 8 times now, and not found any reference whatsoever on this topic.

It’s banned due to her detailed sexual desires and noticing her own anatomy. There is also references to religion, which is another reason it has been banned. It’s sad that so many libraries choose to ban freedom of speech, due to what they perceive as inappropriate content.
