We were looking for a Cloud Print Server and we found Papercut. It Is very simple to install and to use. We easily started preventing the misuse of the printers, we defined rules to avoid or allow 1face or 2face paper printing and also to notify the user to choose B/W instead color printing and also to block printing documenta with many many pages.
Thanks to the statistics and analytics present in the portal we manage to reduce the paper consume and to take a green certification. We use also the mobile app that can be very useful when the user has to print something quickly. During these years many features have been developed, so the project is alive. Some of the features are on the premium license. The network is a key point and you should have some internal node (always running machines) to be sure to print. You can rename the Printers with the location but could be useful to upload an image with the map of the office in order to choose the printer from there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The product just works. Once setup it just hums along doing what it is supposed to do without much interaction. It has good reporting when needed and makes printer usage easier for all users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only two issues I have had are:
1. The toner status reporting (% left) seems unreliable and inaccurate often.
2. When the sync engine sees the ID deleted it doesn't remove it from user. This is an issue with badge ID reuse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to install on multiple printers.
Easy to link Windows Server AD to Papercut and bulk send printer PIN details to users.
Easy to setup and install on multiple BYODs on campus.
Excellent support directly with Papercut themselves.
I can automate monthly reports for the finance team based on their requirements for usage and billing.
Print via your phone effortlessly.
We use this daily.
Support assisted us to easily integrate this into our campus systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As far as I know, it can't manage multiple operating system drivers for a single "click this link to install" option for a BYOD campus. However, it does work with sending out a link for Windows and Mac separately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that I can monitor and limit users print, scan and copy quantities and receive a monthly report to my inbox automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is just a little awkward. The digital keyboard is hard to use efficiently. The time it takes to switch tasks is a bit long and time consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The print control software has definitely revolutionized our cost management and control system. The biggest impact has been in user management, which in the past was done on each individual machine but is now controlled centrally. This way of acting has allowed us to:
- precisely control users;
- we can define precisely which resources each can use;
- when changing machines, the user transfer operation no longer exists, only the new resource needs to be updated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing in particular, but I would suggest better management of the reporting part. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have been using PaperCut for 3 years now. We migrated from AD printer management. The migration was flawless, and within weeks our printer related Tickets dropped 30%. Papercut is extremly simple to use, which means 80% of people had the ability to figure it out without too much handholding. In the 3 years, we have had 2 issues due to updates, and the PaperCut customer support was able to get us back on track within hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to see the mobility side of papercut the be merged with Papercut NG, and or have the ability to manage both from a single dashboard. Seems strange having two sperate installs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have been using the service for many years, and the product is slick and easy to use. In the beginning, we had a few glitches, but we have had no problems for a number of years now.
Customer service is exception and quick to respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We were an early user, so a few glitches in the beginning; however, now it is awesome! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Papercut sits over the top of our Print server and integrates with our Active Directory to allow us to manage users and printers and capture the data to help us make better decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Papercut has alot of side products and some are awesome and some need work. We wanted a Copy Center tool and PaperCut offers Job Ticketing, but this tool is way to basic in its design and function. It needs a massive overhaul. I would Not recommend Job Ticketing for a school district. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Papercut is OS agnostic - supports Microsoft, Apple, Android and Linux/unix deviices. Very easy to install and then size dependant on environment - 100 - 20,000 users ot more. Effeective accounting and ability to encourage smart eco-friendly use of printers, copiers and paper. The reports section is comprehensive with the ability to send just a monthly report via pdf on users - their use, and cost of extremly detailed and comprehensive reports on usage of toner, paper, waste, effiency and so much more. I can't think of anything that I do not like about Papercut. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
