Reason for Maintenance:
We will be upgrading the F5 Distributed Cloud CDN Controller to the latest software version to enhance performance, stability, and overall service reliability.

Our Commitment:
We will provide timely updates should there be any changes to the schedule or if unexpected issues arise.

Scheduled - Dear Valued Customers,

We would like to inform you of an upcoming Urgent Scheduled maintenance activity that will be performed on the following F5 service:
- F5 Distributed Cloud Global Controller

Maintenance Window:
Start Time: 23 Nov 2025 05:00 UTC
End Time: 23 Nov 2025 09:00 UTC

Reference: SDCCAB-2449

Projected Impact:
Management plane configuration changes will persist and actively propagate throughout the majority of upgrade process. However, there will be a temporary pause in config propagation during the upgrade of the config audit service.

Reason for Maintenance:
Maintenance is required to resolve an issue preventing the proper configuration of Kubernetes service discovery in our systems.

Nov 22, 04:00 UTC
Scheduled - Dear Valued Customers,

We would like to inform you about an upcoming urgent planned maintenance activity that will be performed on the following F5 services:
- Bot Defense Advanced
- Cloud SSE

Maintenance Window:
Start Time: 22 Nov 2025 04:00 UTC
End Time: 22 Nov 2025 08:00 UTC

Reference: SDCCAB-2287 and SDCCAB-2288

Projected Impact:
Major web browsers will no longer trust certificates issued by Entrust after November 2024.

- For Customers with Hosted Deployments: Existing Entrust certificates will remain valid until their expiration. However, once they expire, browsers may display security warnings, such as "Your connection is not private".
- For Customers with On-Prem Deployments: Entrust certificates remain valid until expiration; however, browsers will block access entirely once the certificates expire.

Reason for Maintenance:
This maintenance will replace Entrust-issued certificates with certificates from the Sectigo Certificate Authority to ensure continued secure and uninterrupted access.

- For Customers with Hosted Deployments: F5 will perform this certificate replacement during the maintenance window. Customers using root CA pinning may need to update their trusted CA list.
- For Customers with On-Prem Deployments: F5 does not manage certificates for on-premises systems. Customers are responsible for replacing any Entrust-issued certificates with a trusted certificate authority (e.g., DigiCert, Sectigo) before their expiration. It is strongly recommended that customers test new certificates in a staging environment prior to deploying them in production.

Our Commitment:
We will provide timely updates should there be any changes to the schedule or if unexpected issues arise.

Contact Information:
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact our support team at support@cloud.f5.com or call us at 1-888-882-7535.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to improve our services.

Sincerely,
F5 Distributed Cloud

Resolved - F5 has update NGINXaaS for Azure to use a different VM type in the EastUS region. This will allow customers to resume creating Basic plan deployments in the region.
Nov 21, 18:46 UTC
Update - Microsoft has messaged that the limited capacity situation will remain for the foreseeable future. We are therefore accelerating a near term mitigation plan to replace the virtual machine (VM) type used in the East US region for all Basic deployments with a more readily available type. This effort will take approximately a week to be completed. If you need an alternative solution, you can take one of the following courses of action:

1. Recreate your deployments in an alternative Azure region such as East US 2.
2. If remaining in the East US region is necessary, transition to the NGINXaaS Standard V2 plan for improved stability and reliability.

Please note that the NGINXaaS Basic plan does not include a Service Level Agreement (SLA) and is designed primarily for trials, development, and testing purposes. For further information, refer to the NGINXaaS for Azure documentation, including instructions on migrating from the Basic plan to the Standard V2 plan.

Nov 13, 00:32 UTC
Identified - We are continuing to monitor this situation. Microsoft is currently working on the issue, however they have not provided a timeline for resolving the limitation.

To minimize potential data traffic disruptions, we recommend you considering one of the following courses of action:

Oct 23, 20:09 UTC
Investigating - Microsoft has issued a service alert regarding reduced availability of BS series virtual machines (VMs) in the EastUS region. This may impact data traffic for existing NGINXaaS deployments in the EastUS region that are utilizing the basic plan, as the basic plan relies on the BS VM type.

We are monitoring the situation closely and recommend reviewing your deployment data traffic for potential disruption.
