He joined the Board of Directors of the Orange Community Historical Society at age eighteen and published his first book on Orange five years later. He soon broadened his interest to include the rest of Orange County and served as county archivist from 2003 to 2008. He is the author of more than twenty books and hundreds of articles.view less
