About this audiobook

Mexico City, 1988. Long before iTunes or MP3s, you said "I love you" with a mixtape. Meche, awkward and fifteen, discovers how to cast spells using music, and with her friends Sebastian and Daniela will piece together their broken families, and even find love...

Two decades after abandoning the metropolis, Meche returns for her estranged father's funeral, reviving memories from her childhood she thought she buried a long time ago. What really happened back then? Is there any magic left?

Quirky with great teen angst! I recommend it for a light listen.

It was fun, weird, and kind of dark. I liked how the teenagers are portrayed: passionate about their likes, adamant on their hates, so absolute in their resolutions. Teenagers are extreme in real life, and Moreno-Garcia captured that.
The touch of magic is always fun for me ?✨️
It also subtly alludes to topics that, for the story, I found it was good to keep out of the main focus u til impossible, such as the various relationships to the people in our families, how they shape the life of a teenager.
