About this audiobook

The first in a spicy and unforgettable rom-com duology from #1 New York Times bestseller and tik tok favorite Tessa Bailey, in which a Hollywood “It Girl” is cut off from her wealthy family and exiled to a small Pacific Northwest beach town... where she butts heads with a surly, sexy local who thinks she doesn’t belong.

Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father’s dive bar... in Washington.

Piper hasn’t even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won’t last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can’t do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She’s determined to show her stepfather—and the hot, grumpy local—that she’s more than a pretty face.

Except it’s a small town and everywhere she turns, she bumps into Brendan. The fun-loving socialite and the gruff fisherman are polar opposites, but there’s an undeniable attraction simmering between them. Piper doesn’t want any distractions, especially feelings for a man who sails off into the sunset for weeks at a time. Yet as she reconnects with her past and begins to feel at home in Westport, Piper starts to wonder if the cold, glamorous life she knew is what she truly wants. LA is calling her name, but Brendan—and this town full of memories—may have already caught her heart.

Writing style is great. You can really tell the author did extensive research to make sure that each main character has depth to them and their interests/careers. Narrator was the perfect choice also! Excited for the next book in the series!

This book just didn’t do it for me. The story kept dragging on and the story line (aside from the ?️) was a little immature for my personal liking

This was from beginning to end fantastic. The love story was amazing, the relationship between the sister was so beautiful. This actually could become a movie if wanted. Really enjoyed it.

Vapid characters, poor writing, cliché and melodramatic. I kept hoping it would get better, since it's so popular, but nope.

So cringe worthy. Brendan was possessive, jealous, and insecure. Piper was too naive to know any better. Their relationship is doomed once they start slowing down in the bedroom.

Enjoyed the vibe of the main character but the love story had cringy possessive highschool vibes. Also that one of her literal biggest traumas in life ended up being a non negotiable in her future?

This gives me Schitts creek/ clueless vibes. I fucking loved this bookkk. The easiest 5 stars I’ve given. This was so fun and steamy I will be buying a physical copy very soon! Definitely got me out of a deep reading slump. Also was there a Twilight reference in there?! “I am hopelessly irrevocably in love with him.” AHHH the way I screamed. Also Brendan is very high on my list of favorite romance love interests.

I really enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. I though Piper would drive me nuts with her "LA party girl" ways but she had more dimension which was great. I loved the interplay between the sisters and the small town vibe getting to know these "fish out of water" gals.

I had heard that the premise of this was essentially an Alexis-from-Schitt’s-Creek-type girl in a small fishing town and it’s exactly that. I LOVED this. Absolutely hilarious with some smut. So so perfect. The only thing is that I don’t recommend while driving, I was laughing way too hard and yelling at my car. ALL of the characters are great, it’s fast paced, and it’s a REALLY cute story. In love with this. 10/10 highly recommend.
