News: 3 days agoJohnson brought in all three of his targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Bengals.

Spin: Johnson followed up his career day last week with a solid effort against the Bengals on Sunday Night Football. The Giants' rookie tight end had been used sparsely early in the season, but the fourth-rounder is averaging four receptions and 39 yards over his last two contests. Johnson is a name worth monitoring in case his role continues to grow as the season progresses. For now, those in deeper formats can take a look at the tight end ahead of next Sunday's tilt versus the Eagles.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: The Giants selected Johnson in the fourth round of Aprils draft. The Penn State product stands 6-foot-6, 259 pounds and showed his athleticism with a dominant combine, which included a class-best 119 speed score (4.57 40). Following the retirement of Darren Waller, Johnson joins a depth chart that includes the likes of Daniel Bellinger and Chris Manhertz. Bellinger figures to get the early-season starts, but Johnson has a real opportunity to pace the unit in targets. Expectations should always be kept in check for rookie tight ends (especially those draft on Day 3 in shaky offenses), so Johnson should only be targeted in dynasty leagues.
