Lexikographie in Erlangen: Das Zentrum – Der EMLex – Die Villa-Vigoni-Thesen

Abstract

Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg is one of the few universities in Germany where lexicography and dictionary research are intensively pursued. This is done, inter alia, by the support of „Interdisziplinäres Zentrum für Lexikographie, Valenz und Kollokationsforschung“ (interdisciplinary center for lexicography, valency and collocation research) and the international study programme “European Master in Lexicography”, which will be an Erasmus Mundus course until 2024. The various teaching and research activities enable Erlangen to influence the development in the field nationally and internationally. Thus, the 15 Villa-Vigoni-theses on lexicography emerged from a German-Italian cooperation, being essential for the future of dictionaries as well as dictionaries of the future. On the basis of these issues, the interrelation between lexicography and dictionary research at universities, in academia, lexicography in teaching, and the future of dictionaries will be shown in the following.
