Welcome to ESA's webpages on Einstein Probe, a mission of opportunity with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for extraterrestrial Physics (MPE). Einstein Probe will monitor the X-ray sky to discover & characterise high-energy transients and variability in X-ray band.
Einstein Probe was launched on 9 January 2024, at 07:03 UTC by a Long March 2C rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in China.
