It is a truism that if Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) play their expected role, poverty will reduce and there will be more employment opportunity and adequate economic development particularly in the rural areas. Poverty is more devastating in Sub-Saharan Africa than the rest of the world. This paper examines the contributions of microfinance towards the rural poverty reduction. To achieve this objective, the study adopted multi-stage random sampling technique to collect primary data through the structured questionnaire. A total sample of 1,134 microfinance loan beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries were used as respondents from three (Ogun, Osun and Oyo states) out of six states in South- West Nigeria. Statistical Percentage Techniques were used to describe the characteristics of the sample from the study. This paper examines the effect of TOE (Technology, Organizational and External) factors on the usage of e-government among Jordanian public listed companies. Results reveal that in Jordan, companies that are categorized as basic adopters of e-government mainly used e-government for seeking information and contracts (procurement) and TOE factors are generally found to have insignificant effect on the usage. On the other hand, TOE factors are found to have significant effect only on advanced adopters of e-government that mainly used e-government for financial and business integration purposes.

In this ever-changing business milieu, growth is generally perceived positively for business as it is considered a measure of success and a key driver in the creation of wealth, employment, and economic development. This paper therefore investigates the relationship between structural differentiation, organisational learning capability, co-operative venturing and business growth from the perspective of SME managers. To this end, a unique conceptual model was developed and empirically tested. The survey method was adopted where a questionnaire was administered to SME managers within the Gauteng province of South Africa. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25 and Smart PLS 3.0 to generate the sample profile and to test the proposed hypothesis, respectively. The validity of a contract determines the Shariah compliance status of an Islamic financial institution’s products and services. The contract is deemed valid and effective provided that all the essential elements and the necessary conditions of the contract are fully satisfied. The purpose of this study is to examine the modelling of Shariah risk in a basis of contract’s validity. In particular, this study attempts to measure Shariah risk with respect to the likelihood of the contract will not comply with the Shariah requirements of a valid contract, i.e. Shariah defaults. The present study is conducted using qualitative content analysis method through literature surveys. ABSTRACTUsing of the case of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), this study aims to estimate the factors that influence the entrepreneurship career choice among UUM students and graduates, in particular, the effect of educational factor on the probability that a graduate will choose entrepreneurship as his or her career. Results of descriptive statistics reveal that the tendency of choosing entrepreneurship as career is high among the sample and it is associated with gender, ethnic groups, degree, CGPA and family entrepreneurship experiences. Nevertheless, the estimated Multinomial Logit model indicates that the significant factors are entrepreneur education, family entrepreneurship experiences and economic factor (proxy by intention to start a business upon graduation). The present study examines strategies for translating parallelism and factors in retaining parallelism in the Arabic translation of the novel of “Moby Dick”. Analysis is conducted on two sets of data taken from the English novel “Moby Dick” written by Melville in 1851 and its Arabic translation ‘Mūbī Dīk’ by ʻAbbās (1980). This qualitative research is guided by Chesterman’s (1997) syntactic strategy model, and contrastive analysis (CA) is also performed. The contrastive analysis is carried out using a coding procedure based on themes and taxonomies in the acquired data constructed by the researchers. The result shows that, based on Chesterman’s (1997) model, the translator of the above-mentioned novel employed three strategies, namely, literal translation, clause structure change and transposition to maintain parallelism in the Arabic translation of the English novel.

Holothuria leucospilota or locally known as " Patola " is currently considered the most abundant sea cucumber species in Malaysia. This coral reef-dwelling species is not in danger of extinction in comparison to commercial sea cucumbers such as " gamat. " However, overfishing activities in addition to lack of fishing regulations in Malaysia could put this species at risk of extinction in the future. It is important to conduct research on the sea cucumber community in Sarawak because the data can be used as reliable information for future research. Therefore, this study is carried out to quantify and estimate the Holothuria leucospilota population from an intertidal area of Satang Besar Island, Sarawak, Malaysia. Ten stations surrounding the island were selected as the location for this study. A total number of 203 individuals of Holothuria leucospilota were recorded and estimation of the population that inhabits the island's intertidal area was 609 individuals. RELATE test showed relationships between species population and water parameters, namely, temperature, salinity, and pH. Results from this study are important as a baseline data that might contribute to the sustainable management of Sarawak, Malaysia's sea cucumber in the future. Future work suggestions include addition of subtidal samples and other factors, namely, seawater nutrients and feeding environment, that should be done to better understand the population.
