The second coming

Now we are in a position to also unveil one of the most hidden ‘open secrets’ of Anthroposophy since the end of the last century. It is about the most unspoken, yet also the most important contemporary spiritual fact, mentioned above, which has the greatest significance for those who want to gain a true understanding of the development of Anthroposophy in the present age of Michael. Therefore, I would ask you to contemplate it seriously in your individual meditations and share it with one another, in the appropriate Stimmung and feeling, in your intimate school meetings. Also, kindly remember that it is an organic continuation of the previous lectures and that it can be understood as a whole only after we shall give our fifth lecture tomorrow...

This spiritual activity, that connects the second and first comings, in a fully conscious and shared community work, is also the spiritual source of the resurrection of anthroposophy in the 21st century. 
“Might it not then also be possible today that an event of infinite importance is taking place now and that human beings are not taking it into their consciousness? Could it not be that such tremendously important event is taking place in the world, taking place right now, of which our own contemporaries have no presentiment? This is indeed so. A highly important event is taking place that is perceptible, however, only to spiritual vision”.

Gonne endorsed the more radical and violent revolutionary methods to secure Ireland’s independence from Britain in the first decades of the twentieth century. Yeats being a conservative did not believe in violent rebellion. In the poem the speaker is seeing his life through the lens of Greek history and mythology. Gonne is compared to Helen who was considered as the most beautiful woman in ancient Greece. Gonne’s beauty is described “like a tightened bow” which is an indicator of the simple, yet enormously powerful weapon used in Greece. This cross between modern day Ireland and ancient Greece is further proved by the use of “fire”. Fire is a primeval force of ruin. Ultimately, it was fire which destroyed Troy. With the comparison to Helen, Yeats is accusing Gonne of being partially responsible for the Trojan War.

The purpose of this study is approaching a literary text in terms of the
three metafunctions of SFL system, and also the pedagogical
implications. The corpus is selected from William Butler Yeats‘s poem
―The Second Coming‖ and three more poems of his. The ideational
metafunction includes behavioral, mental, verbal, relational, and
existential sub-parts. The interpersonal metafunction consists of two
subcategories: indicative and imperative. In the indicative part, the
speaker/writer tries to either declare information or seek for
(interrogate) it. In imperative part, the speaker either includes
him/herself to do a task or excludes him/herself. The textual
metafunction includes the theme/rheme organization and information
system. The result showed that in these poems, most of the clauses are
textually complex and marked, interpersonally indicative and
declarative, and ideationally mental, material, and relational. The
results of this paper also give pedagogical implication. First, the
students are supposed to be able to describe how these three
metafunctions are realized in any type of text, specifically literary
texts. Second, for EFL teachers, this study can be used as a reference
to teach metafunctions in class. Besides, mastering these realizations
can be used as a guidance to choose appropriate learning materials for
EFL students.

Since my Christ experience, I looked up with outmost devotion and veneration to St Paul, the Saint Patron and (through Rudolf Steiner's supersensible stream of life) presently irreplaceable source of spiritual inspiration in all matters related to the modern Etheric Christ Experience. I therefore demonstrated, albeit in a strongly condensed manner, how I used this inspiration in my spiritual research, in the 2nd chapter of my basic book, The New Experience of the Supersensible, to which I gave the title: St Paul at the Gates of Damascus

‘The human head had already entered a retrogressive evolution...The processes that run parallel to sense perception and thinking are breaking down processes, processes of destruction... We are here pointing to the abyss of nothingness in human evolution which man must cross when he becomes a free being. It is the working of Michael and the Christ-impulse which makes it possible for him to leap across the abyss’.

The third stage of the knowledge drama of the Second coming begins when we decide to return to the body, after completing the second stage, that took place in the higher worlds. This means, that we must decide to reincarnate consciously. But to return to the body in full spiritual consciousness, means that we are faced with formidable, indeed, fearful perspective. We realize that we experience consciously what each reincarnating soul in the present age experiences unconsciously before birth, and, in a weakened form, in returning to the body each morning. What is revealed is that the soul is faced with a difficult supersensible-moral decision, whether to incarnate again on earth or not. It is a test and ordeal, that increases in intensity from one decade to the next.

While on the earth and in the Anthroposophical Society after 1933 the greatest reversal of the Second Coming took place, in the etheric world, the true stream of Michael and the real being of Anthroposophy united fully with the new revelation of the etheric Christ. The most significant spiritual events that determine the goals of Anthroposophy in the twenty-first century took place in the etheric world in the 30s-40s of the last century. And this is our task in the coming years and decades: to bring down to the earth the etheric essence of these mighty, world changing events, and transform them into the very substance and form of the new Michaelic school and movement on the earth.

When the physical body becomes transparent through the above described meditative exercises, we can acquire what Rudolf Steiner designated as ‘the new metabolic knowledge’, attained purely by means of conscious spiritual activity, and not by any manipulation of the physical body.

The paper concerns a mural of the mid-9th c. - first half of the 10th c., unique for altar apse compositions in Georgia – a cross in a rainbow-coloured mandorla, in the conch, and The Presentation of Christ in the Temple, beneath the cross. The mural was once found in the rock-cut church of the Tetri Udabno Monastery of Gareji. I hold that the wall painting contains both eschatological and Theophanic dimensions, and evokes multiple meanings. These include: 1. “The sign of the Son of Man” in the form of an empty cross as the herald of the Second Coming (the principal theme); 2. Christ as the final judge; 3. The Transfiguration; 4. The Ascension; 5. The Golgotha Cross, which reminds us of the Last Judgment; 6. The Eternal glory of Christ; 7. The New Jerusalem; 8. A jewelled cross erected on Golgotha around 440 by Theodosius II.

War changed the form and the content of literary texts in English. Literary discussions moved from concerns about aestheticism to the nature of civilization. W. B. Yeats and T. S. Eliot are the two best minds that tried to probe the global crisis of the day. It is nothing short of clash of civilizations. The world split into two and pushed the draggers at each other's throats. The utopian communist ideology and the colonial and imperialistic democratic states reduced human beings to mere statistics and demography. W. B. Yeats and T. S. Eliot, highly influenced by the Oriental thought and literature, explored the essence of the Hindu religion. Hinduism and Buddhism preached a way of life in which mankind can make peace with itself. Hindu avatars of God assure its believers that at every age God will ensure the defeat of evil and restoration of righteousness. This essence gave hope to both Yeats and Eliot that every age has its own Christ and faith is the blood of mankind.

In the previous blogs I described how The Philosophy of Freedom opens the way to the imaginative perception and cognition of the Etheric Christ, and the way through the transformation of feeling opens the etheric heart to experience His living presence in our midst. In the present I wish to describe how the strong, enthusiastic, Michaelic will opens the way to wake up and remember our life in the etheric world before the present incarnation, were since the 30’, 40’ and 50’ of last century we participated as co-creators and partners in the building of Christ’s new Earth, that we call the Earthly-Human Sun. in the building of Christ’s new Earth, that we call the Earthly-Human Sun.
