This paper is the study of social media marketing based on their contribution and growth during COVID-19. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the government to put in place mass containment policies and companies are responding to this issue by using technology and social media marketing. The results show the growing importance of social media marketing since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Given that the COVID-19 pandemic is a global phenomenon, the results can likely be extrapolated to many nations. Suggestions are made to help businesses adapt to changes in consumer behaviour on social media as they relate to consumer decision-making processes. This review expands our insight into how the required adaptation to digital channels caused by COVID-19 has impacted the creation of brand equity through social media marketing. Within this process, government parties, financial institutions, influencers and consumers are identified as stakeholders that influence and support companies in optimizing their social media marketing strategy. These findings are relevant for academics and companies to better understand the long-term impact of COVID-19 on social media marketing. In addition, they emphasize that the role of online channels and the consumer will increase in the future. The increasing use of the internet and social media today could be a good opportunity for MSMEs to market their products or services, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. MSMEs cannot interact directly with customers, whether to market or sell products, as the government requires some community activities to be conducted from home.
