Stepwise

This paper presents an empirical investigation to study the effects of organizational culture on individual’s innovation. The study designs a ques tionnaire consists of 30 questions in Likert scale, which has 4 main categories and 16 sub-cat egories. The main hypothesis of the survey investigates whether or there is a positive re lationship between organizational culture and individual’s innovation. Using Spearman correla tion ratio as well as stepwise regression technique, the study has confirmed a positive and meaningful relationship between organizational culture and individual’s innovation. In addition, there are positive and meaningful relationship between individua l’s innovation and knowledge sharing, top management support, supporting mechanism and management’s accepting criticism.

A new approach for multiplicity control (Optimal Subset) is presented. It is based on the selection of the best subset of partial (univariate) hypotheses which, when combined, produce the minimal p-value. The second step consists in multiplicity adjustment. In this work we show how to perform this new procedure in the permutation framework, choosing adequate combining functions and permutation strategies. The optimal subset approach can be very useful in exploratory studies because it performs a weak control for multiplicity which can be a valid alternative to the classic False Discovery Rate (FDR). A comparative simulation study and application to neuroimaging real data shows it is particularly useful in exploratory studies and when there is a high number of hypotheses.
