The present study deals with the analyses of examination stress and academic achievement among higher  secondary students studying in different systems, namely, state, matriculation and the central board schools at the secondary level. They are both dependent variable and independent variable which is related to the sub – variables ( Gender, type of management, medium of instruction, type of schools, type of family, parents qualification, parents income, parents occupation). The research tools used for the data collection, nature and selection of the sample, pilot study, establishing reliability and validity of the tools, a brief description of the procedure adopted for the data collection, scoring, statistical technique to be employed for the further analysis of the data.The Higher Secondary Students constitute the population of the present study. In the study a sample of 150 students from class plus one were selected randomly from the city of Chennai. The sample includes Government School, Government Aided and Unaided Higher Secondary Schools.To test the hypotheses framed, the following tools have been used.Examination stress scale by Dr.K. Saraladevi. There is no significant difference in the examination stress among higher secondary  school student  based on type of management.There is no significant difference in the examination stress  among higher secondary  school student based on age.It was found that the calculated ‘F’ value (2.197) is greater  than the table value(2.66) Hence There is no significant difference in the examination stress  among higher secondary school student  based on age. It was found that the calculated ‘F’  value (0.049) is less  than the table value(2.66) Hence There is no significant difference in the examination stress  among higher secondary  school student  based on type of management.

The study investigated the effects of used motor oil on soil physical and chemical variables and their particle size distribution. Two (2) replicate soil samples were collected from three radial coordinates 50 31.114N 70 02.703E, 50 31.165 N 70 2.670E and 5023.35N 6059.176E respectively from the auto-mechanic village and agricultural land which serves as control; at depths of 0-15cm and 15-30cm. Standard methods were adopted both for field and laboratory analysis, utilizing such instruments as Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (model FS 240 Varian), Jewniary, digital pH meter, Refractometer (model E-Line R.ATC-), lovibond instrument model Cm-21 and mercury-in-built thermometer. Twenty three (23) different soils parameters were analyzed comprising total organic carbon, heavy metals, soil texture and particle size (clay, sand and silt) organic carbon, exchangeable cations (Na, Ca and Mg), conductivity, salinity, nutrients (N, P, K), bulk density and organic matter. The result indicated a variation at the mechanic site and control point. The pH of the auto-mechanic soils were acidic with the range of 4.3-5.0 in comparison with the control point which had a mean value of 5.6. Heavy metals had higher values in auto mechanic soils than in the control and their concentration decreased in this trend, Cu 0.940> Hg 0.211> Ni 0.093> Zn 0.051> Pb 0.021> Cd 0.015 > Ar 0.003; Hg 1.385> Cu 0.853> Ni 0.079> Zn 0.041> Cd 0.04> Pb 0.034> Ar 0.004. This showed that disposal of used motor oil on the soil affected the soil quality negatively. It is therefore; recommended that there should be a legislation to stop the indiscriminate dumping of spent oil and lubricants on the surface of the soil at Orji Mechanic village without treatment prior to disposal.

Background The currently published population pharmacokinetic (PK) models used for PK-guided dosing in hemophilia patients are based on clinical trial data and usually not externally validated in clinical practice. The aim of this study was to validate a published model for recombinant factor VIII-Fc fusion protein (rFVIII-Fc) concentrate and to develop an enriched model using independently collected clinical data if required. 4-amine-2-mercaptopyrimidine modified silica gel applied in Cd(II) and Pb(II) extraction from an aqueous medium This paper discusses silica surface modification by a process involving a two-step reaction: anchoring of a silylating agent, followed by an attachment of a 4-amino-2-mercaptopyrimidine molecule. The modified material (Si-BP) was successfully characterized by the FTIR spectra, which revealed amine absorption bands, and through 13C and 29Si NMR spectra, which confirm the proposed structure of the modified silica (Si-BP). Si-BP was used to extract cadmium and lead from an aqueous medium at 298 K. The Si-BP kinetics towards metal ions was very fast, i.e., about 10 minutes, although extraction was significantly impaired at pH 3.
