Recreational vehicle (RV) manufacturers have traditionally been viewed as having no direct effect on caravanning experiences beyond their role as the suppliers of the vehicles. Drawing on the theoretical approach known as service-dominant logic, this paper suggests that RV manufacturers play an active role in the co-creation of tourism experiences. This study adopted the framework developed by Storbacka, K., Brodie, R. J., P., Böhmann, T., Maglio P. P., & Nenonen, S. [(2016). Actor engagement as a microfoundation for value co-creation. Journal of Business Research, 69(1), 3008–3017] that considers engagement as a microfoundation of value co-creation to investigate value co-creation in this context. A template analysis of the data collected from in-depth interviews with all Italian motorhome manufacturers revealed themes relating to five issues: engaging actors, engaging platforms, actors’ dispositions, engagement properties and resource integration patterns. The theoretical and managerial implications of these findings are discussed.

OpenComRTOS is one of the few Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) for embedded systems that was developed using formal modeling techniques. The goal was to obtain a proven trustworthy component with a clean and high performance architecture useable on a wide range of networked embedded systems. The result is a scalable communication system with real-time capabilities. Besides a rigorous formal verification of the kernel algorithms, the resulting architecture has several properties that enhance the safety and real-time properties of the RTOS. The code size in particular is very small and typically 10 times less than a typical equivalent single processor RTOS.

The changing educational context and dynamic needs around increasing online learning at all education levels highlight the importance of self-directed learning. In this regard, self-directed learning, which involves both a process and student characteristic, relates to the students taking charge of their learning in terms of setting aims, choosing material or human resources, choosing appropriate learning strategies and evaluating their learning. This chapter involves a systematic literature review that explores research on self-directed learning at school and higher education within the African context. This concept, despite the origins of the scholarship of self-directed learning being from the Global North and the West, is more expansive and, this chapter specifically aims to give an overview of the current discourses around self-directed learning in Africa. This chapter critically examined key literature regarding self-directed learning in this milieu and inductively identified general trends. Despite self-directed learning's focus on the individual, it seems to be a very appropriate learning process towards communal learning utilising cooperative learning strategies that support self-directed learning. Finally, the chapter provides a synthesis of the main trends around self-directed learning in Africa while identifying certain areas for future research.

Abstract. A full representation of a simulation model encompasses the behavior of the elements that define the model, the definition of the probability distributions that define the delays of the events that control the model, the experimental framework needed for execution, and the graphical representation of certain model elements. This paper aims to use specification and description language to achieve a full model representation by adding two extensions to the language, which allows for a complete and unambiguous definition of a discrete simulation model that is similar to a common discrete operations research simulation tool.
